Hundreds of jobs are at risk as the administrator of Colette's by Colette Hayman announced it will close 33 retail stores in the next three weeks.

The closures will leave about 100 stores left.  The future of the staff across the 33 "loss making" stores is unclear.

"All staff impacted are expected to receive all their wages and entitlements in full," said administrator Vaughan Strawbridge of Deloitte Restructuring.  "This is never easy … we are working closely with the Colette management team to effect the closures quickly while seeking to redeploy staff impacted."

The administrators will shut ten stores in Queensland, eight in Victoria, six in New South Wales, Five in Western Australia, one each on the ACT and South Australia, and two in New Zealand.

Its the latest in a series of hits to the retail sector during the first eight weeks of this year.  Administrators are closing stores under the Jeanswest, Harris Scarfe, and Bardot brands; the housewares chain Ishka announced it has entered administration. https://rentgirl.ch
