The Victoria-based ISP NetCube, which is registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) as Novatel Telecommunications, has gone into liquidation.

Documents filed with ASIC indicate the company is leaving debts of more than $2 million to a range of creditors, including:  $1 million to Real Property; $580,000 to Wirefree Broadband; $49,000 to Melbourne's Emersion Software Solutions; $48,000 to Loanworks Technology; $27,000 to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO); and almost $6,000 to Megaport.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) last year put the company on notice over a rash of consumer complaints.  ACMA's investigations found that NetCube did not keep proper records of due dates for a proposed resolution of customer complaints, making it difficult to ensure that it met the timeframes set out in the telecommunications consumer protection (TCP) code.
