Hello Australia!! - Fascists with missiles in Italy - Did Germany dodge a bullet with its ex-spy chief? - Four women stand up to Trump's blatant racism - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

Police in northern Italy arrested three men linked to the fascist political party after recovering a large cache of weapons which included a working, combat-ready three-meter long missile.  Most of this and some early 20th Century nazi memorabilia was found at the home of Fabio Del Bergiolo, who was a failed political candidate for the Forza Nuova party.  The missile - a French-made Matra missile which apparently came from Qatar - was recovered in the hangar of Rivanazzano Terme airport in the Lombardy region.

Germany's former spy chief is setting off alarms over his judgment after he shared far-right conspiracy about immigrant rescue ships in the Mediterranean Sea. Hans-Georg Maassen was forced from his job last year for mishandling the violent far-right rioting in Chemnitz.  Apparently with too much time on his hands, Maassen re-tweeted an article from a far-right blogger suggesting that the immigrants were somehow pre-placed in the sea by journalists, and suggested journalists were following East German propaganda examples - referencing a country that hasn't even existed for three decades.  Maassen no longer holds public office but is still a member of the governing CDU party.  Bundestag Vice President Claudia Roth said it was "terrifying" that someone like Maassen who found "meaning in a conspiracy theory outlet for the radical right was for years in charge of protecting the German constitution" could have flew under the radar for so long.

A judge in Charlottesville, Virginia sentenced a nazi scum to life plus 419 years in prison for the murder of a counter-protester at the "United the Right" fascist riot two years ago in the small, liberal college town.  While racists ran amok in Charlottesville on 12 August 2017 James Alex Fields rammed his Dodge Challenger into a crowd of area residents standing up to them, killing 32-year old Heather Hayer.  "What you did was an act of terror," said the judge.

Four US Congresswomen targeted for racist abuse by Donald Trump held a joint news conference in the US Capitol condemning Trump's racism, but assuring that they're focused and won't be distracted from doing their jobs.  "This is a president who has said, 'Grab women by the pussy'.  This is a president who's called black athletes sons of bitches," said Rep. Ilhan Omar, "This is a president who has equated neo-nazis with those who protest against them in Charlottesville."  Rep. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts made a point of referring to Trump as the "occupant" of the White House, not as "President", and she added, "This is a disruptive distraction from the issues of care, concern, and consequence to the American people that we were sent here with a decisive mandate from our constituents to reform."

Trump on Sunday tweeted that if the women didn't like America (they very much do, BTW), they should "go back" to the countries where they came from - apparently ignorant of that fact that three were born in the USA and the fourth came there as a child and qualified for citizenship through stringent, established legal methods.  As of Monday afternoon in the US, few Republicans condemned the blatant racism; a few actually supported his flagrant racism.

Iran's breaches of the JCPOA international nuclear agreement - while provocative - are not serious, according to European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini.  None of the remaining signatories to the Iran nuclear deal will trigger the dispute mechanism.  The US can't dispute Iran's actions because Donald Trump pulled the country out of the JCPOA a year ago.  UK Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt said, "Iran is still a good year away from developing a nuclear bomb," meaning there is still time for the international community to save the deal.

Thailand Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha officially ended military rule and declared the country will operate as a civilian democracy.  Prayuth led the coup d'etat that replaced the last democratically-elected government, and the election the installed him as PM was limited in scope.

The Bank of England's new 50 Pound Note has features the likeness of Alan Turing, the genius code breaker whose work was instrumental in defeating the nazis in World War II - but who was later persecuted by his own government for being Gay.
