Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump wavered in their support for the Two State Solution, which for decades has been the cornerstone of Western efforts to bring peace between Israel and the Palestinians.  Trump claimed to be agnostic on the policy:  "I am looking at two-state, and one-state, and I like the one that both parties like," Trump said leaving it up to Israel and the Palestinians to decide.  Netanyahu made a math joke, claiming the Two State solution means eight different things to five people.  When asked about rising anti-Semitism in the US that coincided with his political campaign, Trump bragged about his electoral college win in the November 2016 election.

Trump's campaign staff last year maintain high level contacts with Russian spies.  Both the frequency of the communications during early summer and the proximity to Trump of those involved "raised a red flag" with US intelligence and law enforcement, according to different intelligence sources quotes by US news organizations.  Trump's National Security Advisor Michael Flynn was forced to resign this week because of dishonesty about his contacts with the Russian ambassador.

Malaysian police arrested a woman in the assassination of Kim Jong-nam, older half-brother to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.  Media reports identify her as 28-year-old Doan Thi Huong, allegedly seen on security cameras wearing a white shirt with the letters "LOL".  Cops are reportedly searching for one more woman and four men in the hit at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, during which the 46-year old Kim was grabbed from behind and administered a poison.  The elder Kim was on the outs with his family, and published reports say Jong-un has been on a killing spree in North Korea, knocking off potential rivals and those officials seen as less than 100 percent loyal.

The German news daily Bild is apologizing for running a 100 percent false report on mobs of drunken Arab men rioting and assaulting women in Frankfurt on New Year's Eve.  The 6 February report described a "rioting sex mob", speculating that they had come from a refugee home in central Hesse.  Prosecutors are investigating the sources of that fake news, a noted local chef named Jen Mai and a woman who claimed to have been assaulted. Police couldn't find a single witness to the alleged riot, and found that one of the accusers wasn't even in Frankfort on New Year's Eve.

Jakarta's Christian, ethnic Chinese governor Ahok - who has been the target of fundamentalist Muslim ire - has advanced to the second round of the election, according to quick counts of the vote.  Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama had been hurt by blasphemy charges earlier in the campaign; he didn't clear 50 percent, but he was in first place ahead of conservative former education minister Anies Baswedan.  The second round in the Jakarta governor election is scheduled for April.  It remains to be seen ot Ahok can overcome a combined conservative bloc of supporters of Baswedan and third place finisher Agus Yudhoyono, the son of former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Donald Trump wants to build a wall along the US-Mexico border; traffickers have already got that figured out.  Mexican police found a catapult on the southside of the border where an iron fence is already in place.  When they approached it, nearby men scattered and the cops found a couple of bundles of reefer weighing a combined 21 kilos just waiting to be launched over the fence for waiting bongs and pipes across the US southwest.  Drug gangs have also tunnelled beneath the border where walls and fences have been constructed.
