Good Morning Australia!! - Russia and Ukraine swap prisoners and ratchet down tensions - Brazil's coup government endangers the lungs of the planet - How not to be a cop - Germany now has a plan to deal with a million new residents - And much more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

Russia released a Ukrainian pilot that it had sentenced to 22 years in prison, in exchange for the release of two Russian soldiers held by Kiev.  The exchange removes a point of tension between the two former allies, even while pro-Russian separatists continue to control parts of eastern Ukraine.  A Russian court had  convicted pilot Nadezhda Savchenko for killing two Russian journalists in the conflict, charges she denied.  "I am free!" she proclaimed to reporters upon returning to Kiev on the president's jet, "I will always fight for Ukraine!"  Russia's military had always denied that Aleksandar Aleksandrov and Yevgeny Yerofeyev were on active duty, and maintained that they crossed over the border to Ukraine on their own volition.

US President Barack Obama arrived in Japan for the G7 in Ise-Shima, although Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told Mr. Obama of his "profound resentment" of the recent murder of a Japanese woman by an American military employee in Okinawa.  "I'm just speechless," Abe said at a joint news conference, "The entire Japan is deeply shocked by this latest incident."  President Obama expressed America's "sincerest condolences and deepest regrets" over the crime, which he calls "inexcusable".  The murder is complicating US and Japanese plans to expand military bases on Okinawa, where most people welcome the US presence but resentment among opponents is deepening.

Prior to arriving in Japan, President Obama played human beat box for a Vietnamese rapper.  Yo, that's fresh.

A US State Department report faults former Secretary of state and Democratic Party Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton for poorly managing email security.  But it also makes clear that nothing illegal happened, nor was there any security leak.  In other words, the big controversy stirred up by dimwit republicans in the Murdoch-controlled corporate media amounts to misusing a piece of machinery.  Or putting a salad fork on the wrong side of the plate.  However, you can count on butthurt republican pundits and pols continuing to try and make something out of this, even though there's still nothing to it.

Also in US politics, fascist demagogue and Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign accidentally revealed its campaign playbook to political journalists (hint:  don't click on "reply all", you friggin' dumbarse).  He'll try to hit Hillary Clinton on the decades-old Whitewater investigation - which Republicans spent five years and US$50 Million (in 1990s dollars) to determine that nothing happened.  But it did uncover then-President Bill Clinton's sex scandal.  Interestingly, the sleazeball republican prosecutor in charge of that debacle is reportedly about to be fired from his latest job as chancellor of Baylor University.. because of a sex scandal that occurred on his watch.  SMDH.

Brazil's neo-liberal coup government continues to plot to sell off the country's assets.  Secretary of Investment Moreira Franco plans to lift the limits on foreign investment in agricultural land, which were put in place to prevent countries such as China from moving in and buying the whole farm.  The move promises to be an environmental disaster for the planet, as swaths of what's left of the Brazilian rainforest are now under threat of being clear-cut to create arable land to sell out from under the Brazilian people.  Brazil's pulp and paper industry is already salivating over this prospect.

Incredible and disturbing video:  It turns out that the Chief of Police of Brussels, Belgium didn't just get hit with a rock during an anti-austerity protest the other day - he got knocked the f___ out!  I'm not defending the assailant, but the video clearly shows Chief Pierre Vandersmissen running after protesters, wildly squirting pepper spray at them.  But he failed to don proper riot gear, and he allowed himself to be separated from the coordinated line of officers behind him by at least a couple of dozen meters.  The attacker comes from behind, and BOOM.  Like I said, I'm not defending the assailant, but the chief was completely out of control and unprofessional.  Critics were already pushing for his dismissal prior to this flagrant lapse of judgment for ordering the arrests of anti-racist protesters.

A road collapse near Florence, Italy's Ponte Vecchio bridge ate a line of parked cars.  Ouch.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel's cabinet backed a plan to integrate more than a million migrants and refugees into German society.  The plan includes German language lessons and requiring migrants to live where the government tells them to live, in order to avoid the creation of ghettos.  The carrot-and-stick approach also contains penalties for migrants who refuse to follow the rules.  "We are a country that makes a good offer to those who come to us, to those who are fleeing war, persecution, terrorism," Chancellor Merkel said, "But we're also saying very clearly - because we have learned from the past when we did not provide these integration opportunities - that we're also expecting people to accept this offer."

A school board in northern Switzerland says Muslim boys who refuse to shake their Female teachers' hands can be required to do so - and their parents can be fined up to AU$7,000 if the kids don't comply.  The school had temporarily exempted the teens from shaking hands with teachers, because of their cultural belief that they should only willingly touch the women whom they will eventually marry.  But, "the public interest concerning the equality of men and women as well as the integration of foreigners significantly outweighs the pupils' freedom of religion and belief," the school board said in a statement.  Officials also noted that the boys will need to interact with women if they're going to join the workforce.

Boko Haram militants attacked a Medecins Sans Frontieres health clinic in Niger's Bosso district, killing at least six people.  The terrorists also destroyed six wells that provide Yebi village's only water supply.

Meanwhile, another teenage girl has manage to escape from Boko Haram:  She says she was kidnapped from her home along with her one month old baby some 18 months ago, and imprisoned with other abductees in a cave for several weeks.  The terrorists forced the women to pray and trained them to be suicide bombers.  That was foiled when multinational troops attacked the Boko Haram camp and she managed to escape in the chaos.  The young woman is one of dozens freed since the start of the year in the current offensive against the terrorist group's strongholds in Nigeria's Sambisa Forest.
