Chaos in Washington with four prominent departures from the Trump administration:

Rex Tillerson found out he was out as US Secretary of State by looking at Twitter.  In typically cowardly fashion, the orange clown Donald Trump didn't even have a face-to-face meeting with Tillerson, who had just returned from a tour of Africa - labelled by some as "The Sh*thole Apology Tour", because Tillerson spent his time smoothing over hurt feelings after Trump's vulgar tirade about immigrants from African nations.  Tillerson and the clown had repeatedly clashed over issues including tariffs on steel and aluminum, the Iran Nuclear Deal, North Korea, among others.

That Tillerson lost respect for Trump a long time ago has not been in doubt.  Last July, Tillerson was so frustrated with Trump's horribly stupid idea to dramatically increase the US nuclear arsenal that he told an aide that Trump is a "f*cking moron".  Tillerson never directly denied saying it.

But the breaking point might not have come as a result of Tillerson's relationship with Trump, but because of Tillerson's relationship with Vladimir Putin.  The New Yorker magazine this month reported that many believe the Kremlin had intervened to block Trump's initial choice for Secretary of State, Mitt Romney, in favor of then-ExxonMobil CEO Tillerson, who had a 20-year friendship with Vladimir Putin.

That cooled last year, however, as it became apparent that Tillerson would not push to remove US economic sanctions on Russia.  Putin joked that he "regretted" awarding Tillerson the Russian "Order of Friendship".  Then on 1 March, Tillerson's old company announced it was pulling out of a joint venture with Russia's state-owned oil company because of the sanctions.  And the day before he was fired, Tillerson told reporters the poisoning of a Russian ex-double agent and his daughter in the UK was "a really egregious act" that clearly "came from Russia with the Russian government's knowledge".  As soon as that hit the wires, Trump tweeted he had fired Tillerson. 

By mid-afternoon, Tillerson addressed reporters at the State Department for the last time:  He urged other diplomatic workers not to walk off the job, claimed he wanted a smooth transition to his successor, and screw it he's outta there as of midnight.  He didn't take questions and he never once mentioned the orange clown.

Second departure:  Shortly after Tillerson was sacked, the White House fired his top spokesman Stephen Goldstein for contradicting the official Trump administration account of Tillerson's dismissal.  Goldstein, who had only been on the job for three months, issued a statement that read:  "The Secretary did not speak to the President this morning and is unaware of the reason, but he is grateful for the opportunity to serve, and still believes strongly that public service is a noble calling and not to be regretted."  Goldstein later tweeted his praise for Tillerson but seemed relieved to be done with the clown show.

Trump is nominating CIA director Mike Pompeo to replace Tillerson, and that's not a good thing.  The former Republican Congress member is known for his hawkish stance on Iran and his aggressive grilling of Hillary Clinton over Benghazi.  He sat on his thumbs as Trump attacked the intelligence community, and appeared to take no action against Russia's increasing aggression.  Trump wants to move career CIA employee Gina Haspell into the spy agency's top spot - she's best known for her role in directing the first and most notorious CIA illegal "black site" interrogation centers (torture chambers) in the years after 9/11, and was allegedly present when US torturers took out the eye of an illegally detained man (allegation of her on-site presence since retracted, but she reportedly ran the place).  War mongers, conspiracy theorists, torturers.

Third person to depart the Trump administration:  Homeland Security ushered White House aide Johnny McEntee from the West Wing today, without his personal effects.  McEntee is under investigation by the Secret Service for "serious" financial crimes related to gambling and tax evasion.   He's joining Trump's reelection campaign as a "senior advisor" because of course he is.  Prior to joining the White House as Trump's "body man" - meaning he followed Trump around with a briefcase full of tissues and disinfectant wipes - McEntee was best known to sportsball loving Americans as the totally awesome Johnny Mac, the best trick shot dude-bro Quarterback in the Big East college football conference.  Oh, I wish I were kidding about that.  7.3 million views.

Fourth high profile exit:  James Schwab walked out as spokesman for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE, or "La Migra") because he refused to lie for Trump anymore.  Trump and demented cookie elf Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that as many as 800 undocumented workers evaded arrest last week because the mayor of Oakland, California Libby Scharf put out a warning about immigration raids.  That was a lie, in fact La Migra arrested 242 hard-working people for not having paperwork.  "I asked them to change the information.  I told them that the information was wrong, they asked me to deflect, and I didn't agree with that," Schwab told the San Francisco Chronicle.  "Then I took some time and I quit."

Anyway...

Another ex-patriot Russian and critic of President Vladimir Putin has been found dead in England.  Nikolai Glushkov was found dead in his London home.  He was an ally of exiled Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky, who was found hanged in the UK in 2013.  Glushkov, who spent five years in prison after a falling out with Putin, recently gave testimony in a UK against another Russian oligarch.  Scotland Yard said, "The death is currently being treated as an unexplained."

So, I guess there's the Kremlin's response to UK Prime Minister Theresa May's demand that Russian explain itself in the chemical weapon attack on a Russian ex-double agent and his daughter in Salisbury earlier this month.  Sergei Skripal and daughter Yulia remain in a critical condition.
