US House Democrats say the redacted version of the Mueller Report on Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election leaves most of Congress "in the dark" about what really happened.  Thus, the chairman of the House judiciary committee - Rep. Jerry Nadler of New York - issued a subpoena for the full, non-redacted version, ordering US Attorney General William Barr to respond by 1 May.  "My committee needs and is entitled to the full version of the report and the underlying evidence consistent with past practice," Nadler said, "The redactions appear to be significant.  We have so far seen none of the actual evidence that the Special Counsel developed to make this case."  Barr claims he redacted the report to protect open grand jury investigations.

Far from exonerating Donald Trump, as the White House repeatedly claims, the Mueller Report lists at least ten instances of Trump attempting to obstruct justice by ordering underlings to lie to investigators.  But at the end of the report, Mueller reports that it is up to Congress to determine if Trump should be held accountable.  In many cases, Trump's questionable commands to his staff and secretaries were simply ignored, resulting in no crime committed.  It also showed that even if special prosecutor Robert Mueller's team couldn't directly link Trump's campaign to Russian meddlers, the campaign clearly expected to benefit from Russian attempts to swing the election.

A journalist was killed by stray gunfire in Northern Ireland.  29-year old Lyra McKee died covering police raids on the homes of suspected members of the "New IRA", who reject the 1998 peace deal that ended The Troubles.  Sinn Fein has condemned the violence and belittled the gunmen as "so-called dissidents" who carried out "an attack on all the people of this community, an attack on our peace process, and an attack on the Good Friday Agreement".  Police are treating McKee's murder as a "terrorist incident".  Before she died, McKee described the clashes between police and nationalists as "adbolsute madness".
