A railway boss was heckled by residents of the tiny Canadian town where one of his trains careened out of control and derailed, causing the deadly explosions of its oil tanker cars.  The toll is now 60 people dead or missing in the disaster.

Residents could not contain their distaste for Montreal, Maine, and Atlantic Railway CEO Edward Burkhardt as he paid his first visit to Lac-Megantic in French-speaking Quebec.

A defensive Burkhardt laid the blame for the crash on an engineer who the CEO accuses of failing to properly apply hand brakes on the rail cars when they were parked in nearby Nantes.  He said his company’s inspection indicated the brakes were applied on the locomotives, but not on the rail cars.

Quebec Premier Pauline Marois said the company's response to the crash had been lacking, and a police investigation is now underway.

Also on Wednesday, another video of the fire consuming much of Lac-Megantic went viral on the Internet.
