All of Austria's far-right ministers quit the government in a widening scandal over selling influence to a Russian oligarch, throwing Vienna into chaos.  Traditional right-wing Chancellor Sebastian Kurz forced out his deputy, Heinz-Christian Strache of the ironically-named Freedom Party (FPO), after he was caught offering lucrative government contracts to the oligarch's daughter as well as proposing turning a widely read newspaper into a nationalist propaganda outlet.  Kurz then forced out Interior Minister Herbert Kickl, who also served as general secretary of the FPO to take responsibility.  That angered the rest of the FPO who quit en masse.  Kurz already scheduled elections for September, but now it looks like they'll have to be held much earlier.

Pro-Brexiteer Nigel Farage is now the latest British politician to get doused with a milk shake, something that has now happened at least five times in the campaign for the European Parliament election later this month.  "The bile and the racism he spouts out in this country is far more damaging than a bit of milkshake to his front," said shake tosser Paul Crowther, who was arrested immediately.  Nigel was overheard grousing and berating his security team for missing it.  The milkshake has emerged as the protest food item of choice in the UK, following the egging of Fraser Anning in March.

A US Federal Judge has ordered Donald Trump's accounting firm to hand over his tax records to the House of Representatives Oversight and Reform Committee, which is controlled by opposition Democrats.  The decision comes amid a widespread effort by the White House and Trump's lawyers to refuse to stonewall congressional requests for information and records.  Earlier, Trump and the Justice Department said former White House counsel Don McGahn had no obligation to comply with the House Judiciary Committee's subpoena compelling him to testify on Tuesday in Washington, DC - a move that could open McGahn to contempt of Congress charges.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is dismissing Donald Trump's threat to bring about the "end of Iran" as "genocidal taunts", warning Trump not to threaten the country.  Trump over the weekend went from downplaying a military conflict with Iran to going back on a war footing.  Trump last year pulled the US out of the six-party Iran Nuclear deal; Iranian state TV on Monday announced that it has quadrupled its production of low-enriched uranium.

Masked gunmen shot up a bar in the northern Brazilian city of Belem, killing eleven people.  Police have made no arrested, but local media speculated that the attack was carried out by a local criminal gang in retaliation for the deployment of federal troops in the region to fight crime.

Paris police arrested a man as he finished his unapproved climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower, a stunt that forced officials to close the iconic tourist magnet.  They haven't released the climber's name or motive yet.
