The long awaited report by US Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller about Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion with the Trump campaign is reportedly almost ready.

The Washington Post reported it could be released within days, and CNN's sources said perhaps as early as next week.  The Post added that Mueller may deliver it straight to Attorney General William Barr.  It is not required to release it to the public, although the amount of leaking going on in Washington, DC these days it is more than likely it will reach the light of day.  Democratic lawmakers have called for the report to be made available to Congress and the public.

The White House is bracing itself in case the report contains politically damaging information and/or evidence of criminal conduct.

Mueller has successfully charged or secured guilty pleas from several of Trump's former associates, including:  Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn, former deputy campaign manger Rick Gates, former campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and former personal attorney Michael Cohen have all pled guilty.  Another Trump associate, flamboyant political consultant Roger Stone, was arrested last month and charged with seven counts stemming from the investigation.
