Government - Trump Accusers To Speak
Women who have accused Donald Trump of sexual misconduct and abuse will unite on Monday to demand the US Congress open an investigation into their claims.
More than a dozen women came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against Trump during last year's presidential campaign. They'll speak at a news conference organized by Brave New Films, a documentary group that released a film about the allegations last month. The White House has denied the allegations.
This comes just before Tuesday's special election in Alabama to choose a new US Senator to fill the seat vacated by Trump's Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Trump has endorsed and campaigned for Roy Moore, a problematic right-winger accused of sexually abusing teenage girls when he was a 32-year old local prosecutor.
The specter of past sexual misconduct has plagued both major political parties, but the Trump endorsement - and many other episodes - gives many the impression that the Democrats discipline their scandal-plagued members, while the Republican party allows sex abusers to rise within its ranks.
