Government - Trump Less Popular Than Head Lice
Billionaire, fascist demagogue, and US presidential candidate Donald Trump may have all but captured the Republican party's nomination for the most powerful office in the world. But a new poll shows that Trump is less popular than things people really hate, such as head lice, jury duty, and Nickelback.
Public Policy Polling (PPP) compared the loud mouthed real estate mogul to truly unpleasant things such as head lice, used car salesmen, and root canals. For real. Question 23 on the poll asked people, "What do you have a higher opinion of: Donald Trump, or lice?" Of those responding to the poll, 28 percent said they have a higher opinion of Trump, but 54 preferred head lice over Donald Trump. That's a 26 point spread.
But it's just lice. Trump polled less favorably to not only the above-mentioned pleasantries, but also traffic jams, hipsters, and the Department of Motor Vehicles, where Americans wait in very long lines to get their drivers licenses (you've seen "The Simpsons", it's often that bad). The good news for Trump is that Nickelback and Hipsters lead him only by single digits. And he is still more popular than cockroaches and hemorrhoids.
Despite the whimsical nature of the poll, PPP is a serious organization and its political polling tends to be pretty accurate. It's not the first time PPP has compared things to Nickelback and lice; a 2013 poll taken at the height of Republican obstruction of President Barack Obama found that congress was less popular than Nickelback, lice, and Donald Trump.
The downside for the Democrats is that lice and jury duty will not be on the ballot during this November's presidential election.
