The White House appears to have been caught unprepared after a series of damaging allegations against the orange clown Donald Trump's pick to head the Veterans Administration.

The document compiled by Democratic staff on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee lists a range of disturbing allegations against Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson, who currently heads the White House Medical Unit and acts as personal physician to the president.  In it, 23 current and former colleagues of Jackson detail alleged "abusive" behavior towards his colleagues; a free-wheeling attitude towards dispensing prescription pain pills and sleep aids that allegedly earned him the nickname "candyman"; and alleged incidents of drunkenness on the job.

"Every allegation in that document has been brought to us by more than one source," said Montana Senator Jon Tester, the top Democrat on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee.

The allegations are troubling because they don't come from Demcorats or Republicans, but from current and former members of the US military.  In one case, the summary says, "Jackson got drunk and wrecked a government vehicle," which Jackson specifically denied.  Another passage told of a 2015 incident in which sources said Jackson became intoxicated on an overseas trip and banged on the hotel-room door of a female employee.  The Secret service intervened for fear the ruckus would awaken then-President Barack Obama, who reportedly was as unaware of Jackson's behavior as Trump.

Ronny Jackson met with White House officials on Wednesday night in Washington, DC, amid speculation that he would withdraw his name from consideration.  Trump reportedly still backs Jackson, but as allegations becan dripping out earlier this week the orange clown dropped several verbal hints that he wouldn't be disappointed if Jackson dropped out voluntarily.
