A new study that attempts to quantify the true cost of failing to truly deal with climate change does not contain good news for the Millennial generation and their offspring.

"The millennial generation will lose approximately US$8.8 Trillion in lifetime income if we fail to act on climate change," according to a new report from NextGen Climate titled "The Price Tag of Being Young" (.pdf link).  NextGen's report is based on a UC Berkeley projection which said that the average person's income in the year 2100 will be 23 percent lower than it would be in a world without global warming.

NextGen Climate is funded by hedge fund manager Tom Steyer, a billionaire environmentalist who strives to be a green counterbalance to the delusional climate change deniers of the right wing.  The wealthy Baby Boomer says the report should light a fire beneath Millennial voters who might doubt the importance of the upcoming presidential election between Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican fascist demagogue Donald Trump - a climate change denier who says he wants to do away with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

"When we look at the consequences of this election, the choice between the candidates could not be more stark," said Mr. Steyer, "and the voice of millennial voters has never been more important."

NextGen Climate policy manager Sara Jordan agrees, writing:  "Millennials have the numbers to elect climate champions this fall, but we have to show up to vote.  Our future depends on it."

So, get on social media and urge your American friends to use their vote!
