Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk spent the critical weekend before the end of the first quarter by dropping a rap single about a dead gorilla.

On Saturday, Mr. Musk tweeted a link to the song, "RIP Harambe", which is dedicated to the 17-year-old gorilla who was shot by a Cincinnati Zoo worker in 2016 after grabbing a 3-year-old boy who fell into his enclosure.

Harambe

"RIP Harambe, Sipping on some Bombay, We on our way to heaven, Amen, Amen," Musk sings, "RIP Harambe, Smoking on some strong (hey), In the gorilla zoo, And we thinking about you."

Elon Musk

One might think that Elon would have had other things on his mind, such as delivering new Tesla cars to customers, which he said was his top priority just ten days ago.  So, is this a sign that Tesla is meeting its goals, and thus he has time for.. hobbies?

"Amazing work by Tesla Delivery teams, especially in Europe & China!" Musk also tweeted Saturday, "Most insane logistics challenge I've ever seen.  Thanks also to many country & city officials for your help this weekend!  Super appreciated."

Tesla is expected to announce its quarterly deliveries early this week, which analysts expect to be around 76,000 vehicles.  Anything significantly of that might spur concerns over how Musk is spending his time, because his quirks have gotten him into trouble before.  US authorities forced him to stand down as chairman of Tesla over fraud charges brought against him for tweeting that he planned to take Tesla private at US$420 a share.  A month later, Musk made heads turn for smoking weed during a podcast with a US alt-right comedian.  And he's being sued by a British diver who helped rescue a Thai youth soccer team from a flooded cave last year; Musk called him a "pedo guy".

Tesla stock was down 13 percent in March, and down 16 percent for the quarter.
