Not the kind of public relations Israel wants:  Some IDF soldiers wound up in hot water with their commander when they detained a 5-year old Palestinian boy and his father, apparently because the little kid threw a stone, all caught on video.

The terror on the boy’s face is unmistakable as he is placed in a military vehicle, surrounded by heavily armed Israeli Defense Force troops, to be taken off alongside his father for interrogation at a checkpoint near Hebron.  The father was blindfolded.

Later, a senior officer intervened, dressing down the troops for the blindfold, and the pair was handed over to Palestinian security.

The Israeli Defense Force’s own rules for the occupied territories state that 12 years old is the minimum age for criminal responsibility.

Israel and Palestinian rights groups say there’s been a rise in the number of such detentions in recent months, and they’re demanding answers from the Israeli military.
