Police in Quebec, Canada now have both fugitives back in custody, after a brazen prison break in which a hijacked helicopter picked them up from the yard and flew them away.

The helicopter pilot was not part of the plot and was forced to take part.  Police say he is being treated for shock in a hospital.

“It’s spectacular. It’s out of the ordinary,” Quebec police spokesman Gregory Gomez Del Prado told reporters. “Three were in custody within five hours. The fourth was in custody around midnight.”

The hijacked chopper hovered above the yard of the Saint-Jerome prison northwest of Montreal while the two prisoners climbed up a rope to make their getaway.

Police followed the chopper to where it landed and found the dazed pilot.  The prisoners were then quickly tracked.  The second fugitive was taken in after brief gun battle.

Both are said to have ties to the Hell’s Angels bikie gang.
