So.. where IS Edward Snowden, anyway?  The whereabouts of the whistleblower and former employee of a private contractor used by America’s ginormous spy apparatus are a mystery.

Washington can barely contain its anger over the way Hong Kong and Russia are ignoring its demands for Snowden to be taken into custody and sent back to the US.  White House spokesman Jay Carney said US-China relations suffered a setback because Hong Kong allowed Snowden to board a plane and leave, even though the US had cancelled his passport.  Hong Kong blamed a US paperwork error.  Several US officials are threatening a similar chill in relations with Moscow, if Russia doesn’t arrest and extradite Snowden.

As if Vladimir Putin cares.  Russia had already offered to consider allowing Snowden to live there, even though he hadn’t actually asked for sanctuary.  Snowden was last believed to be at the Sheremetyevo International Airport, either in a capsule or in a waiting area located just beyond the gate so that he would not have to go through Russian customs.  Few people actually saw him there.  He’s traveling on an asylum pass issued by Ecuador, where it is believed he will seek to stay.

Supporters of President Rafael Correa, who was recently reelected in a landslide victory, are taking immense pride in again buildings its anti-imperialist cred, following Ecuador grating asylum to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange a year ago.

“We do not just protect the rights of Ecuadorians but the universal rights of all citizens of the world, we are so happy the world can see this,” said Congressman Bairon Valle.

BTW, “Ginormousis a word now.
