Good Morning Australia!! - A gruesome terrorist attack kills more than a dozen people in Barcelona - Naturally, Trump's reaction to Barcelona is the worst - Another Nat is caught up in the Article 44 saga - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

A van has plowed into a crowded pedestrian way in Barcelona, Spain; Catalan government officials say at least 13 people are dead and more than 80 are injured.  Graphic video and photos from the scene showed the dead and wounded sprawled on concrete streets and sidewalks, indicating the driver of the van zig-zagged to hit as many targets as possible.  The so-called Islamic State quickly took credit for the attack, although it's not clear how IS is involved and this may just an opportunist claim; IS internet channels exploded with comments celebrating the attack.  This happened in Barcelona's La Rambla mall, which is popular with locals and tourists alike and therefore a target for terrorists.  One tourist posted some pretty graphic and disturbing stuff to Facebook, and you've been warned:  The two videos are here, here, and disturbing.

Police quickly arrested Driss Oukabir, a Moroccan-born man and legal resident of Spain whose social media accounts featured anti-Semitic posts and anti-Israel screeds, including a video with blatant Nazi imagery.

Spain's El Pais newspaper reports, "The van used in the attack was rented by Driss Oukabir, in the town of Santa Perpetua de la Mogada, according to the identification made by the Civil Guard."  A second suspect was arrested later in the day.  The level of either suspects' involvement in the carnage is not clear.

The foul orange clown quickly responded to the Barcelona attack on Twitter, and it made him looks even worse on so many levels.  By comparison, Donald Trump waited for days to respond to the neonazi terrorist attack in Charlottesville, Virginia, and to date has refused to acknowledged it was a terrorist attack.  And his racist reaction to Barcelona served only to advance a false tale that, whether he knows it or not, smears the name of one of America's military heroes.  Trump tweeted the debunked tale of how General John "Black Jack" Pershing during the Spanish-American war in the Philippines supposedly ordered the extra-judicial summary executions of 49 alleged Muslim terrorists with bullets dipped in pig's blood.  A 50th was allowed to go back and tell his friends what happened, and somehow this stopped terrorism for decades.  Except that it never happened.  But lying never stopped Trump before, especially when he wants to advance the worst, inhuman traits of his despicable fascist movement.

Also, pork products aren't kryptonite to Muslims.  How and why did racists ever get that moronic idea into their heads?  It's just stupid.  Racists are just plain stupid.

Even though the Federal Government splendidly rejected One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson's call to ban Muslims and the Burqa, the experts say she may have undermined Australia's relations with its Muslim community and the anti-terrorism work of ASIO.  Hanson wore a Burqa in the Senate chamber yesterday, and was roundly condemned by the Government, Labor, and Greens.  "It's a terrible thing and it's got to stop," said deradicalization expert Clarke Jones to the ABC.  "Comments like that, the language she used, stunts like this, is damaging kids' spirits and making them question where they are and if they belong," he added, explaining how alienation merely pushes at risk youth towards radicalization.

Senator Fiona Chester has referred herself to the High Court after discovering that she might be a British citizen by descent, making her the third member of the Nationals to have possibly violated the Constitution's article 44 which bars lawmakers from having dual citizenship.  Bendigo Labor MP Lisa Chesters brilliantly tweeted, "Geez, the should be renamed the 'Inter-Nationals'."  Ms. Nash, whose father was born in Scotland, says she will not stand down as Regional Affairs Minister while the court decides the case which now envelopes her, fellow Nats Barnaby Joyce and Matt Canavan, and former Greens senators Scott Ludlam and Larissa Waters who have already resigned.

South Africa has put out a border alert to stop Zimbabwean First Lady Grace Mugabe from leaving the country.  She allegedly traveled to Johannesburg earlier this week to attack a young fashion model she accused of partying with her adult sons, who live in J-Burg.  The young woman says she was beaten with an electrical cord and suffered a nasty cut to her face.  The 52-year old Mrs. Mugabe's whereabouts are not known, but she is believed to still be in South Africa.

Amnesty International says the death toll in the Sierra Leone mudslide might have been minimized or even prevented if the country had regulations on building homes in flood and landslide zones.  "The authorities should have learned lessons from previous similar incidents and put in place systems to prevent, or at least minimize, the consequences of these disasters," said Amnesty's Makmid Kamara.  Heavy rain loosened a hillside outside the capital Freetown, and it spilled down onto housing killing at least 400 people.  More than 600 are still missing and 1,000 are homeless.

Amnesty International also condemning the jail terms given to the young leaders of the 2014 "Umbrella Protests" against Beijing's increasing control over Hong Kong.  Alex Chow, Nathan Law, and Joshua Wong were sentenced to between six and eight months imprisonment each.  The trio says they will continue their pro-democracy activities when they get out of jail.

Brazil's Supreme Court has ruled in favor of two tribes in a case that is being hailed as a significant victory for indigenous land rights.  The southwestern state of Mato Grosso do Sul demanded the federal government compensate it for land that was declared as the territory of the Nambikwara and Pareci tribes.  The final word is that the land belongs to the indigenous groups.  "This is an important step towards achieving justice for indigenous people in Brazil," said Tonico Benites, a Guarani leader.
