Hello Australia!! - A Dingo attacks an Aussie toddler - Trump's four-letter reaction to the Mueller investigation - France gets closer to the cause of the Notre Dame fire - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

A father saved his toddler son from a Dingo attack.  The family had been sleeping in a camper van on Fraser Island off Queensland's coast, when the Dingo entered the vehicle, grabbed the boy in his jaws by the back of the neck, and tried to drag him off.  Dad fought off the dog, but saw that there were severalmore nearby.  The toddler was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition with two deep lacerations to the back of his neck and puncture wounds to the scalp.

And now..

The Mueller Report is going to be sort of like the Brexit, in that it's going to keep going on and on.  US Attorney General William Barr sent a redacted version of the Special Prosecutor's report on Russian influence over Donald Trump and his 2016 presidential campaign.  Far from exonerating Trump, the 448-page tome contains details of at least ten instances of potentially illegal obstruction of justice, mostly as Trump waged public and private campaigns to discourage potential witnesses from cooperating with the investigation.  Trump tried to fire special prosecutor Robert Mueller several times.  The report also said Trump privately attempted to "control" the investigation as it delved into the conduct of himself and his closest advisors during and after the presidential campaign (which is totally what innocent people who have nothing to worry about do).

Trump's panic at the investigation began the moment that US Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller was appointed on 17 May 2017:  The report says Trump "slumped back in his chair" and said, "Oh my God.  This is terrible.  This is the end of my presidency.  I'm f_cked."  He then screamed at then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions, "You were supposed to protect me," a clear misinterpretation of the AG's role as America's chief law enforcement agent - not the president's personal lawyer.  Seeing as the current AG actually DOES view his role as protector of the president, Democrats are inviting the one man who can speak to the report's exact meanings and intents to testify before key committees - Robert Mueller, who has avoided speaking in public throughout this investigation.

So there you go - the Mueller report found evidence of obstruction, and found that the doofuses on team Trump were running around engaged in all sorts of abhorrent behavior for a Democracy.  But it failed to deliver a knock-out punch to get Trump out of office - at least not until the next election in 2020.

Anyway..

French investigators are zeroing in on a faulty electrical connection and ruling out arson as the cause of the devastating fire at Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral.  They haven't been able to get inside to the roof and steeple area that burned, because the building remains extremely unstable and dangerous - but they have interviewed dozens of construction workers and others associated with a renovation project in that general area. France is also honoring the firefighters who first made it to the roof of the 850-year old building, including Myriam Chudzinski who had trained in stair climbing for this eventuality.  "We knew that the roof was burning, but we didn't really know the intensity," she said, "It was from upstairs that you understood that it was really dramatic."

Incumbent Indonesian President Joko Widodo is claiming victory in the country's election.  But opposition candidate and ex-general Prabowo Subianto claims the vote count was flawed and is threatening legal action.

Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al-Serraj is complaining about the "silence" of his international allies as opposition forces advance on the capital Tripoli.  He's backed by the UN and much of the West, while General Khalifa Haftar is openly backed by Russia and Egypt.  But al-Serraj accuses France of supporting Haftar, and faults the West for failing to address this rift.
