Good Morning Australia!! - The Bastille Day attack appears to have been a larger conspiracy than first thought - Outrage over Trump's most dangerous and world-screwing policy yet - Erdogan's Turkey answers the question, "How much worse can it get?" - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

French prosecutors say the man who rammed a truck into a crowd of Bastille Day celebrants in Nice had logistical support from five other suspects.  Those people are in custody and facing charges.  Police shot and killed the driver, 31-year old Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, after he killed 84 people on the sea front in the southern French city where people of all faiths and races had gathered to watch a fireworks display.

Brazilian police arrested a group of ten "absolute amateurs" who were "ill-prepared" to launch terrorist attacks just weeks ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.  All of the suspects are Brazilian, and cops are looking for two more.  The group was allegedly attempting to make contact with Islamic State, and trying to purchase AK-47 assault weapons from an arms dealer across the border in Paraguay.

Russia's track and field athletes will remain banned from taking part in the Olympics.  The Lausanne, Switzerland-based Court of Arbitration for Sport - which has the last word in international sporting dispute - has ruled that the ban on Russian athletes over the widespread doping scandal is appropriate.  The ruling could influence the upcoming decision from the International Olympic Committee on whether to ban all Russians from the Summer games.

US Republicans are rushing to do damage control, after presidential candidate, serial liar, misogynist/racist/xenophobe, and fascist demagogue Donald Trump suggested that the US would no longer take part in mutual defense of NATO allies unless they pay for it.  Yes, it's a violation of the NATO treaty AND extortion.  The campaign lied and insisted he was misquoted, but a review of the text of the interview with the New York Times confirms that is exactly what Trump said.  And what's worse is that Trump said this to answer a question about Russian aggression towards Eastern Europe - meaning he'd hand the whole thing over the Putin, which whom he murky financial ties.  The comments set off alarms in Europe, the White House, and with the few remaining semi-sane congressional republicans.

Texas Senator and second-place Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is refusing to back down.  The day after he went onstage at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio and refused to endorse Trump for president, Cruz says he will not be Trump's "servile puppy dog".  During the bruising primary campaign, Trump insulted Cruz's wife Heidi's appearance and threatened to "spill the beans" on her, and accused Cruz's father of taking part in the assassination of President John Kennedy.  Trump's other former rivals have since dropped to their knees - Marco Rubio, whose political career was crippled with the diminutive "Little Marco", spoke at the convention; Chris Christie is now Trump's lunch bitch.

Meanwhile, things are still not alright in broken America.  Police in North Miami, Florida are being criticized after an officer shot and wounded a black man who was already lying on the ground with his hands in the air as instructed.  And to make matters even more egregious, the victim - Charles Kinsey - is a mental health care worker who was only trying to help a 23-year old profoundly autistic man who had walked off from his care facility.  "I was more worried about him than myself," Mr. Kinsey said.  "As long as I've got my hands up, they're not gonna shoot me, that's what I'm thinking," he added, "Wow, was I wrong."  Wow indeed.  Kinsey is in hospital with a gunshot wound.  Naturally, the cops are not forthcoming with details nor explanations.

Turkey is suspending its participation in European Convention on Human Rights during its three month state of emergency declared by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after the failed coup.  The European Union says this - as well as the mass firings of teachers, public servants, and police alongside mass arrests - is unacceptable.  Turkey claims it will follow the model of France, which also declared a state of emergency after last year's terrorist attacks - just without the mass arrests, mass firings of civilian education workers, and suspension of Democracy.

Malaysian PM Najib Razak is facing renewed calls to stand down and explain how US$1 Billion went missing from the 1MDB just as a similar amount appeared in his personal account, now that the US is moving to seize the fund's assets.  The US court papers do not specifically name Mr. Najib, but he is easily identifiable as "Malaysian Official 1", whose account allegedly received millions in funds originating from 1MDB.
