Greater Manchester Police say eight people are now arrested in the investigation into this week's deadly bombing outside a pop music concert which killed 22 people and injured scores more.  Investigators have resumed sharing information with the United States after a series of troubling and insulting leaks that could conceivably compromise the investigation.  Even after UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd said the US must stop leaking information, crucial details of the bomb's construction appeared in the New York Times - including the brand of the backpack and the unique sort of detonator with a rare 12-volt battery used.  "I felt sick to the pit of my stomach," said Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham of the leaks, describing them as "wrong and disrespectful".

British Prime Minister Theresa May held a private meeting about the US leaks with orange clown and international embarrassment Donald Trump on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Brussels.  British security services were also livid that the US leaked the name of the 22-year old bomber and other details while police were still in the initial phases of the probe.  Trump reportedly promised Ms. May that the US would "get to the bottom" of the leaks, calling them "deeply troubling".  Both governments issued statements about their "special relationship", which appeared to have taken a hit in the latest nonsense.

This meeting happened on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Brussels, where Donald Trump made an ass out of himself and humiliated the United States of America on several fronts.  The orange clown publicly berated other NATO members for supposedly not paying their fair share in the defensive alliance, claiming they owe money to US taxpayers - except, that's not the way it works because NATO is NOT a protection racket.  Members pay a set percentage of their GDP for the common defense, and that has been steadily increasing over the years because of negotiations during the Obama administration.  Pointedly, he failed to express US support for Article Five of the NATO Charter, which says each member will stand up for the others.  The other leaders rolled their eyes and whispered among themselves as Trump acted the fool.

The rest of Trump's appearance was just petulance:  Trump tried his 1980s "power handshake" yank on French President Emmanuel Macron (after backing Macron's far-right-wing xenophobic opponent in this month's election).  Trying to pull Macron off balance, the French leader responded by shoving the moron's arm away as the others laughed uncomfortably:
Get your filthy paw off of me, you damned dirty ape!
Macron had his revenge at a one-on-one appearance a little later, during which he urged Trump not to make any hasty decisions about pulling the US out of the Paris Climate Accords:
Ow! My tiny hands!
Emmanuel Macron For The Win
The French President held his ground and hung on while Trump's tiny hand gave out, revealing stubby little fingers.  But Trump's despicable behavior (that would get him kicked out of any decent restaurant) didn't stop there:  He boorishly shoved the Prime Minister of Montenegro Dusko Markovic aside to get to the front of the crowd for a photo-op.
A boorish and vulgar cretin represents the United States of America
Markovic just brushed it off at his first NATO summit, as his tiny country with about as many residents as all of Washington, DC was just recently accepted into the alliance.

Before she went to the NATO meeting, de facto leader of the free world and German Chancellor Angela Merkel sat in a panel discussion on democracy with a popular US president - Barack Obama.  The former US President didn't mention the orange clown by name while running down global issues over the course of 90 minutes.  But Mr. Obama did condemn Trump's idiotic idea for a border wall with Mexico:  "If there are disruptions in these countries, if there is bad governance, if there is war or if there is poverty, in this new world that we live in we can't isolate ourselves," Obama said. "We can't hide behind a wall."  This was Obama's first speech in Europe after leaving the White House.

The Greek government says former Prime Minister Lucas Papademos and two others were wounded in a bomb attack.  The explosion occurred inside his car Thursday evening in central Athens.  The 69-year-old Papademos was deputy governor of the European Central Bank and served as prime minister for six months in 2011-2012, setting in place many of the salary-slashing austerity policies that have kept a dead weight on Greece's economy. Brazilian President Michel Temer revoked an unpopular decree allowing military troops to be used to put down protests in the capital Brasilia.  Temer claims police could not be counted on to quell the unrest, which included setting fires inside a government building.  The protesters want the unelected president to halt his conservative economic "reforms"and step down.

The US for the first time sent a guided missile destroyer past one of the Chinese-occupied reefs in the South China Sea near the Philippines.  China claims the USS Dewey entered the area "without its permission", while the rest of the world considers the area to be international waters and Beijing doesn't get to say who comes and goes.

The Kiwis have a space program?  A private US company launched a rocket into space from New Zealand - a first.  The successful test flight of the Rocket Lab Electra is a first step in launching cheap disposable rockets to carry small satellites and other payloads.
