Good Morning Australia!! - US Investigators reportedly wiretapped Trump's lawyer - Another Trump lawyer seems to have crapped all over Trump's denials - Hollywood as good as expels two big names - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

Telstra says a cable was cut (by a lightning strike!) between Orange and Bowral in New South Wales, causing problems with Triple-0 calls in the State, plus Victoria and Western Australia.  "We're working closely with emergency services in those states," Telstra said in a tweet.  Ambulance Victoria is telling people calling with emergencies: if you don't get through, try again.  QLD Police say they're still getting Triple-0 calls, NSW Police say there have been intermittent problems.

Federal investigators wiretapped the phone of Michael Cohen, lawyer for the orange clown Donald Trump, before last month's dramatic raid on Cohen's office, home, and hotel room.  NBC News reported that it's not clear for how long, but at least one call between a line associated with Cohen and the White House was intercepted.  The feds are investigating Cohen on several levels, but especially because of the US$130,000 pay-off he made to porn star Stormy Daniels for her silence about an alleged affair with Trump.  Previously, investigators wrote in court documents that they secretly searched email accounts maintained by Cohen.

Trump's brilliant new lawyer, former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, threw the rest of the White House legal team into disarray by going onto a Fox News show and admitting that Trump had reimbursed Cohen for the $135,000 in hush money; this directly contradicted Trump and Cohen who both denied Trump knew about the payment.  The next morning, Giuliani attempted damage control by going back on to Fox where he accidently linked it to the 2016 campaign:  "Imagine if that came out on October 15, 2016, in the middle of the last debate with Hillary Clinton?" he asked, suggesting that the payment was, in fact, related to the presidential campaign, and not simply a personal matter.  "Cohen made it go away," he added, "He did his job."

So, Rudy Giuliani appeared to link Donald Trump to two federal crimes.  And then there's Melania - at the very least, this farce has moved the allegation of Trump's affair with a porn star while married to Melania a step closer to confirmation.  Suppose she has a divorce lawyer yet?

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres says the risk of a war with Iran is increased if Donald trump doesn't renew the United States' participation in the Iran Nuclear Deal.  Trump has until 12 May to make a decision on the matter.  The UN, UK, France, and Germany have all implored Trump not to screw up the only thing that keeps Iran from pursuing nuclear weapons.  Earlier this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a bunch of out-of-date documents from the previous decade as "evidence" that Iran was violating the deal, although that was rather quickly debunked.  Not that facts or reality even mattered to Trump.

Australia is kicking in AU$300,000 to help Vanuatu permanently evacuate the island of Ambae - that's more than 10,000 people.  This is because a volcano is spewing ash that is fouling water supplies, killing crops, and making the air unbreathable.  Islanders will be offered residence on two neighbouring islands.

Dust storms have killed more than a hundred people in India, mainly at the border of northern states of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, near the Taj Mahal.  It is rare for these kinds of storms to cause widespread damage and loss of life.  Many people were killed in their homes, by lightning strikes, collapsed walls, and falling trees.

The US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has expelled Bill Cosby and Roman Polansky.  Cosby was convicted last month of drugging and raping women; Polansky pleaded guilty to raping a 13-year old girl in 1977, but skipped the country before sentencing.  He has been living and directing films in Europe, and avoiding extradition to the US.

America in the age of Trump:  Students in upscale Holmdel Township, New Jersey complained of frequently finding poop on the track and football field at Holmdel High School, and the coaches noticed a fresh turd every morning when they showed up for work.  Police did a stake out and caught the poopetrator in the act:  It was the school superintendant, 42-year old Thomas Tramaglini.  No reason was given for his extremely disgusting behavior, and he has gone on paid leave from his $150,000 job.

Izzy the Kangaroo apparently survived the winter, after escaping from her home near Austin, Texas last November.  A driver in Brazoria County was stunned to see a Kangaroo hopping along a rural highway, and a second driver saw the 'roo, too.  And although it is nearly 200 miles away, how many Kangaroos are there hopping around in Texas.
