Good Morning Australia!! - The US First Lady wades into America's immigration debate - Critics accuse Israel of attacking free speech - Man tries to touch pitiless killing machine, it doesn't go well - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

Breaking News from the US - Mexican frontier - the US Border Patrol chased a truck packed with twelve suspected undocumented immigrants north of Brownsville, Texas, during which the truck crashed.  At least five of the people inside were killed.  The local Sheriff groused about people smugglers putting "American" lives at risk.

The orange clown's wife Melania Trump released a statement more or less blasting the Trump administration's policy of separating migrant families who cross the US - Mexico border illegally.  But it came with a very disingenuous caveat:  "Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform," said Melania's communication director Stephanie Grisham.  "She believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that governs with heart."  Yeah, right.

But the truth is that the separation of families is not and never has been a problem with "both sides of the aisle" - her husband can pick up the phone at any time and order the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) to knock it the hell off, right now.  Late last week, it came out that La Migra had taken 2,000 children away from the undocumented parents in a six week period, which has drawn outrage - from "both sides".  Trump has maintained that ICE agents are required by law to take the children and put them into what amounts to concentration camps.

But no one in the Trump mis-administration has identified that law, because it does not exist.  It is just another Trump lie that is being repeated by his soulless lackeys.  Trump is taking the kids as hostages, saying he won't stop until Congressional Democrats give in to his hardline immigration policies.  California Democratic Representative Adam Schiff said the government was "using the grief, the tears, the pain of these kids as mortar to build" Trump's proposed southern border wall, and it's "an effort to extort a bill to their liking in the Congress".

ANYWAY..

Elsewhere in stupid, gun crazy America, at least 22 people who shot and wounded when a neighborhood dispute spilled over into an all-night arts festival in Trenton, New Jersey.  At least two men opened fire at around 03:00 AM local time while a thousand people were enjoying music, food, and public art displays.  "Everybody was having a nice time," said witness Irving Higginbotham, "The next thing you know, there were gunshots, got shot in the leg, fell on the ground, and that was it."  One of the gunmen is dead, other other is in police custody, and at least four of the wounded are in a critical condition.

The foreign ministers of Greece and the the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) - which everyone else in the world calls "Macedonia" - signed an agreement to change the name of the former, despite massive opposition from nationalists in their respective capitals.  To settle their dispute, FYROM will/might be renamed as the "Republic of North Macedonia".  Some people in Skopje hate it because they feel it surrenders part of their history, while Greek nationalists hate it because there is a region of Greece called Macedonia and they feel this tiny Balkan neighbor the size of three backyards and a car park is trying to steal their claim to fame among international tourists.  "We are here to heal the wounds of time, to open a path for peace, fraternization and growth for our countries, the Balkans and Europe," said Greek PM Alexis Tsipras while riot cops used stun grenades and tear gas to force back the crowd of some 500 angry nationalists a few kilometers away.

Israeli ministers on Sunday approved a draft to outlaw the filming of soldiers in action.  Critics say this is an attempt to limit accountability after an IDF solder was filmed killing an incapacitated Palestinian who had already been arrested by fellow troops.  Anyone found guilty of filming or publishing footage "with intent to harm the morale of Israel's soldiers or its inhabitants" could be sentenced to a maximum of ten years in prison.  The bill still has a number of parliamentary hurdles to clear, giving press and free speech advocates a window to try and stop it.  "If the occupation (of Palestinian lands) embarrasses the government, then the government should take action to end it," said Amit Gilutz, a spokesman for Israeli Human Rights group B'Tselem, "Documenting the reality of the occupation will continue regardless of such ridiculous legislation efforts."

In Putin's Russia, landlords in Saint Petersburg evicted a "safe space" for LGBT and ethnic-minority football fans right on the eve of the World Cup.  The international Football Against Racism in Europe (Fare) alleged it was a "political attack of the kind that shows how debates about human rights are curtailed by powerful conservative political forces in Russia".  Homophobia and anti-gay violence in Russia was given tacit approval by the government five years ago when it passed an idiotic law barring non-existent "gay propaganda" aimed at children.  Although no incidents have been reported, there have been grave concerns for the safety of LGBT and minority football fans in Russia, which has some of the worst racist and homophobic soccer hooligans in Europe.

He's being called the world's dumbest tourist, a passenger in a safari vehicle on an African Lion-watching excursion.  It's not clear when or where the video was shot, but it shows the bro-man-dude keeping the window open and attempting to touch a male Lion, who are notoriously finicky about being touched by Western frat bros.
No Sir, I do not like that
Luckily for the tourists in the truck, Sir Chomps-a-Lot was more interested in rebuking the tourist than in dragging his ass out and eating him for lunch.  Which he could easily have done, according to wildlife wardens:  "Only those who work in the wild know the speed of a lion and it could have torn the arm off the person touching it," said South African safari ranger Naas Smit, "It would have the power to pull that tourist straight out of that window and kill them instantly in front of their friends.  It was an incredibly stupid thing to do."
