Good Morning Australia!! - Myanmar blames the victims - Americans are doused with acid - Passing the torch of the world's oldest person - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

Myanmar's top military official blamed the Rohingya for his country's repression against them, and accused them of trying to build a "stronghold" in their impoverished section of Rakhine state.  More than 400,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled violence by Myanmar troops and nationalist mobs which burned their villages, to refugee camps in Cox's Bazaar, Bangladesh.  Myanmar's General Min Aung Hlaing claims the Rohingya have "never been an ethnic group", and is urging people and the media in Myanmar to unite against the Rohingya.

The UK lowered its terror threat level from critical to severe, and authorities arrested a second suspect in the train bombing in London's southwest last week.  Police are searching a home in Surrey in connection with the arrest of the 21-year-old man second suspect.  They picked up the first suspect near the Port of Dover earlier.

Hamas is signalling it will loosen its control over Gaza.  The militant group will allow the first elections since 2006, and will hold more talks with the Fatah faction which controls the Palestinian Authority.  Israel, the US, EU, UK and other countries consider Hamas or its military wing of being a terrorist group.

America is considering closing its Embassy in Havana after claiming that several staffers were harmed in a so-called "sonic attack", according to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.  The State Department says more than 20 staff suffered conditions ranging from mild brain trauma and hearing loss to dizziness and nausea, and they're blaming a mysterious, unnamed focused sound weapon.  Before leaving office, President Barack Obama reopened diplomatic relations with Cuba after five frosty decades, despite fierce opposition from conservatives who can't get over the Cold War being over.  So, closing the embassy would fit the foreign policy goals of anti-Cuba right-wingers, but not those of Havana itself which welcomed increased contact with the US.  There ya go.

So why did Donald Trump send mixed signals about the US leaving (or staying in) the Paris Climate Accord?  And why did the orange clown retweet an anti-Semites incredibly childish image of Trump hitting a gold ball the knocks down Hillary Clinton?  Well, because Hillary is getting a lot more attention than the moron because of her tell-all book of the 2016 presidential campaign.  Oh, and what was billed as "the mother of Trump rallies" on the US Capitol Lawn was a bust, attracting maybe three dozen ne'er-do-wells and mental defectives.  In fact, the Insane Clown Posse attracted WAY more people to its rally to pressure the FBI the delist its "Juggalo" fans as a criminal gang.  That's how effed up the US is right now.. the FBI is more worried about Juggalos than right-wing neonazi terrorists who have actually killed people.

Four US college students were injured in an acid attack in Marseilles, France.  There are conflicting reports on whether they received facial injuries, but all were treated in hospital very soon after the attack.  The assailant was allegedly a woman with a history of mental health issues, and the attack is not being considered terrorism.

A bunch of firsts in Belgrade - Serbia's first openly LGBT Prime Minister became the first PM to march in a Gay Pride march, and it went pretty well.  Just seven years ago religious zealots and homophobes attacked the Belgrade Pride Parade, resulting in a hundred injuries, and causing authorities to deny permits for parades for the next five years.  This time around, PM Ana Brnabic marched, posed for photos, and the dumbarse haters were a minority on the sidelines not having any fun.

The title of world's oldest person has passed again.  Jamaica's "Aunt V" Violet Brown died at age 117 and 189 days.  She spent much of her life cutting sugar cane near her home in the Duanvale district in western Jamaica, where she was church organist for a time.  The world oldest person is now Nabi Tajima of Kagoshima, Japan at 117 years, 44 days and counting.  Ms. Tajima is also the oldest person ever in Asia and the world's last surviving person born in the 19th century.
