Good Morning Australia!! - Trump caves in to China, gets nothing back - Criminal "Fascists" put an elderly mayor in hospital - Another famous director is named in sex assault complaint  - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

The orange clown Donald Trump's descent into madness is picking up steam, with his (idiotic) announcement that he is "demanding" the US Justice Department investigate whether it or the FBI planted an informant in his presidential campaign for political reasons.  Last week, the New York Times reported such a source interacted with Trump campaign advisers carter Page and George Papadopoulos, the latter of whom already took a plea deal.  But that informant, a little-known Cambridge University professor whose identity has already been leaked but journalistic ethics prevent me from naming, was never embeded in the campaign.  However, if anyone in the Justice Department still takes the orange idiot seriously, then it is a serious abuse of power to "hereby demand" that impartial Federal law enforcement agents perform political tasks for a sitting (though incompetent) president.

So what set off the clown?  Maybe the New York Times' revelation that Trump's son Donald Junior met an emissary for two Arab princes and an Israeli political operative who offered to help his father win the presidential election.  If the report is confirmed, "It demonstrates yet again just how not only willing but eager the president's son and the Trump campaign were to solicit, to receive foreign help" during the election, said California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff on NBC's Meet the Press.  Schiff is the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.

Trump caved in to China again, with US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin announcing that the US trade war with China is "on hold".  You'll recall that the man behind "The Art of the Deal" campaigned on China's trade deficit and threatened to put billions of dollars of tariffs on incoming Chinese-made goods.  And then in recent weeks, China stopped buying US soybeans and started buying them from Russia.  And Trump's knees buckled, without getting ANY concrete assurances that China will purchase more American goods.  "There's no agreement for a deal," said Trump's Director of the National Economic Council Larry Kudlow, a former TV pundit.  "We never anticipated one.  There's a communique between the two great countries, that's all.  And in that communique, you can see where we're going next."

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said "far-right" attackers who beat up the 75-year old mayor of the country's second largest city will "face the consequences of their actions".  The cowardly nationalist scum began throwing bottles at Thessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris at his appearance at a remembrance event, eventually knocking the elderly man to the ground and kicked his arms and head.  Boutaris was rushed from the scene and treated at hospital overnight.  The governing left-wing Syriza party described it as a "fascist attempt to target and intimidate", while the main opposition New Democracy Party called for the far-right terrorists to be "arrested immediately".

Mexican authorities say they will carry out a safety audit of the charter airline which operated the flight that crashed outside Havana, Cuba on Friday, killing 110 people on board.  Two former pilots complained of safety violations, including poor maintenance and a plane dropping off of international flight radar some years ago.  Guyana in South America revealed that it had banned the very plane that crashed for being too old and decrepit to fly in its air space.

French film director/producer/screenwriter Luc Besson is denying a rape allegation filed by an actress with Paris police.  Besson is known for a multitude of action classics, from early works like "Subway" and "Nikita" through "The Transporter" series, dozens of films for the French domestic market including the action-comedy "Taxi" franchise, and last year's sci-fi epic "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets".  But the unnamed actress alleged that last week, he slipped a drug into her cup of tea and realized she had been assaulted when she woke up.  The actress also acknowledged she previously was in a relationship with Besson, which she said she was "pressured into for professional reasons".
