German Chancellor Angela Merkel says her country can no longer rely on Donald Trump's America:  "We Europeans must take our destiny into our own hands," the de facto leader of the free world said at a campaign stop in Bavaria.  Try to remember the last time a major Western ally said that about the US.  Yeah, never.
Is that guy for real?
Ms. Merkel emphasized the need for friendly relations with the US, Britain, and Russia, but Europe now had to "fight for its own destiny".  And then she drank one of those gigantic Bavarian beers.
Bottom's Up
Because after Donald Trump's disastrous trip to the Middle East and Europe in which he made an ass of himself in front of NATO and the G7, but praised the human rights abusers of Saudi Arabia.. everyone could use a f**king beer.

French President Emmanuel Macron said his crushing handshake with Donald Trump prior to the NATO meeting last week was no accident.  Trump is famous for trying to intimidate people with a power handshake - but cameras caught it as Macron beat Trump at his own 1980s game, forcing the orange clown to try to withdraw from the grasp.
Macron Crush!
Well, that straightened things out..
"Donald Trump, the Turkish president or the Russian president see things in terms of power relationships, which doesn't bother me," Macron said with a rather unfavorable comarison.  "I don't believe in diplomacy through public criticism but in my bilateral dialogues I don't let anything pass. That is how you get respect."  Whoa.

Washington is poised and wondering what's next after bombshell reports over the weekend detailing how Donald Trump's son-in-law and top White House aide Jared Kushner asked the Russians for a communications back-channel that could be kept secret from US diplomatic and intelligence services.  The Russians hilariously said, "Nyet."  Democrats are calling for Kushner's security clearance to be reviewed or revoked.  While Trump took to twitter to whine about "fake news", TOP free slots by provider Aristocrat is here https://reallybestslots.com/software/aristocrat/ play demo Aristocrat's game for fun no download Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly went on the Sunday morning news shows to claim there was no "big issue" with Kushner's questionable and suspicious actions.  Say, if that's the case, then why did Trump fire former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn for secret back channel communications with Moscow?  LOL.

The US just keeps threatening to laptops from aircraft cabins of all flights into and out of the country.  Not quite sure why they keep rattling this cage, two months after banning carry-ons of large electronic items from ten airports, including those in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Turkey.  "That's the thing that they are obsessed with, the terrorists, the idea of knocking down an airplane in flight, particularly if it's a US carrier, particularly if it's full of US people," said Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly.  But after rattling the cage one more time, Kelly said there's no timetable for actually instituting the ban.

The Libyan jihadist group that attacked the US diplomatic compound in Benghazi in 2012 has disbanded after its leaders were killed in a fight with government troops.  The rest of the members changed t-shirts and switched to the so-called Islamic State.  Five years ago, the Ansar al-Sharia killed four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.  The right-wing fever swamp for some idiotic reason blamed Hillary Clinton, and the rest is history.

South African President Jacob Zuma is denying reports he has been setting up a second home out of the country in Dubai.  Despite rampant corruption and a lousy economy that inspire growing calls for his resignation, ANC party leaders tabled a motion of no confidence against him in a closed-door meeting of the party's National Executive Committee.  Zuma has already been forced to pay back millions of dollars of public funds he wrongly used to build up his luxurious family compound.

Sri Lanka is bracing for more rain after devastating floods.  At least 151 people have been killed and 111 are missing, and nearly 500,000 peopleare displaced because of flooding and mudslides triggered by heavy rains on Friday.  While the Sri Lankan military is performing rescues, India's Navy is assisting with two ships filled with relief supplies and inflatable boats.

French police are seeking two people caught on security video toppling a cross from the grave of Charles de Gaulle, the leader of France's resistance to Nazi occupation during World War Two and founder of the Fifth Republic.  They do not believe there wasa political motivation.  President Emmanuel Macron called for the tomb be quickly repaired, adding that De Gaulle's memory is "dear to all French people."

Cuba is calling for governments of the world to provide universal health coverage for every person in the world.  At the World Health Organization's (WHO) 70th international meeting in Geneva, Cuban Minister of Public Health Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda said that health care is "a fundamental human right and at the center of public policies for sustainable development."  WHO is honoring Cuba's "Henry Reeve Brigade" for its work on international health crises such as the 2015 West African Ebola Epidemic.  Despite the US-led economic blockade that has stunted Cuba's economy, the island's amazing health care system has: developed a cancer vaccine and developed numerous groundbreaking cancer treatments; become the first country to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis, invented a treatment for diabetic foot ulcers that has drastically reduced amputations and increased life spans.  Viva Socialismo!
