The suspect Austin, Texas bomber blew himself up as police and US Federal agents closed in on him.  Authorities say the terrorist was 23-year old Mark Anthony Conditt of Pflugerville, outside Austin, a home-schooled, self-identified conservative who neighbors can hardly believe was involved in planting deadly bombs around town.  Authorities reportedly picked up his trail because his bombs used a rare, "exotic" battery from Asia that was ordered over the Internet.  They tracked him to a local hotel, but he got into his truck and drove off eventually landing in a ditch where he set off his final bomb, becoming the third person to die in the spree.  Six people were also injured since this nonsense began 2 March.

The orange clown Donald Trump is spitting mad and ordering his Chief of Staff John Kelly to find the person who leaked that story of Trump congratulating Vladimir Putin on his highly questionable election victory, against the advice of his national security staff.  The clown was given a memo reading "DO NOT CONGRATULATE" in upper-case letters; not only did he blow off that advice, but he failed to condemn Putin for the attack on a former Russian double agent and his daughter in the UK using a nerve agent made only by Russia.  Only a small number of White House staffer would have had access to such information.

UK Foreign Minister Boris Johnson says Vladimir Putin will use the World Cup as a PR tool in the same way that Hitler used the 1936 Olympics to attempt to legitimize his disgusting nazi regime.  This comes as the UK works out its response to Russia's apparent involvement in the poisoning of former spy Sergey Skripal and his daughter, potential involvement in the homicide of another Putin critic in London, and tit-for-tat diplomatic expulsions.

The leaders of 44 African nations signed the African Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA), which creates one of the world's largest free trade blocs.  The idea is to link 1.2 billion people and increase inter-African commerce, which accounts for only ten percent of continental trade - most of Africa's transactions are with Southeast Asia.  In theory, the CFTA would boost commerce, growth, and employment, at least that's what the free-traders hope.  Ten nations opted out, including Nigeria - which has Africa's largest nominal GDP.

Nigeria claims 101 of the 110 school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in February have been freed, and are being flown to the capital Abuja to meet with President Muhamaddu Buhari.  Of the remaining nine, five reportedly died during the abduction ordeal at the town of Dapchi last month.  Nigeria had already suffered the Chibok kidnapping, when 276 girls were snatched from a school in April 2014 - More than 100 are still missing.

Myanmar's first democratically-elected president after decades of military rule resigned amid health concerns.  71-year old Htin Kyaw hasn't been seen in public recently.  He was widely considered to be a rubber-stamp proxy for party leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who runs the show in all but name.

Peru's thoroughly corrupt President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski resigned before he can be impeached on Thursday.  Kuczynski was caught on audio implicating him in a vote buying scandal.  A former IMF and World Bank official, Kuczynski kept his job last year by pardoning the murderous fascist former dictator Alberto Fujimori in exchange for Fujimori's lawmaker son voting against impeachment.

So, I guess when lawmakers in Kosovo don't like something they're voting on, they just throw tear gas.

France's Gender Equality Minister Marlene Schiappa has presented a bill to combat sexual violence and harassment.  It specifies that people under 15 years of age cannot consent to sex, sets fines for sexual street harassment, extends the age limit for reporting underage rape, and redefines sexual and moral harassment to better cover online offenses.  President Emmanuel Macron supports it.  "We want to put an end to this group cyber-harassment by making clear that every single person that is taking part will have to answer for it, even if they just sent a few tweets," Ms. Schiappa said.

A court in Israel sentenced a 17-year old Palestinian girl to eight months in prison for slapping an Israeli Defense Force Soldier.  Ahed Tamimi will have to pay 5,000 Shekels, around $1,500, as part of the plea deal.  The slap was caught on video, raising the stakes of the confrontation - Israeli could not be seen allowing one of its troops to be hit, and Ms. Tamimi became a symbol of Palestinian resistance to what critics say are Israel's heavy-handed and destructive tactics in dealing with the Palestinians.

It's been another day of protests throughout Brazil over the apparent political assassination of Rio de Janeiro councilor, Favela champion, and human rights activist Marielle Franco.  The 38-year old was gunned down with her driver with police ammunition as she returned to her home from a women's rights conference.  Marielle was a rising star in the Socialism and Liberty Party (PSOL) and prominently criticized Rio police for repeatedly killing innocents in the Favelas during the course of anti-drug operations.

The city of Trier in Germany is honoring its famous son Karl Marx on the 200th anniversary of his birth with zany traffic signals.  On a red light, a crimson caricature of the author of The Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital is seen with his arm outstretched.  On green, Marx changes color and is seen walking - to the Left - with a book under his arm.  Yay!
Trier, Germany
"It is a beautiful symbol and with it Trier is showing its flag for Marx," said Mayor Wolfram Leibe.  Karl Marx was born in Trier on 5 May 1818, and lived there for his first 17 years.  For you folks who didn't grow up with the friggin Cold War screaming, "Fear Marx!" at you every day, thisis awesome.  Trust me.

Highland Wildlife Park in Kincraig, Scotland celebrates the first polar bear born in the UK for 25 years.
