Good Morning Australia!! - Flames in Brasilia as protesters demand the President stand down - Trump's loose lips outed spies and submarines - Police arrest members of the Manchester bomber's family - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

Around 35,000 protesters have descended on Brazil's capital, where some have set fires inside the ministry of agriculture and have damaged several other ministerial buildings.

Flaming Barricane In Brasilia
Troops and police are being deployed to defend government buildings and there is a heavy police presence on the streets, and protesters are setting off flaming barricades to protect themselves from cops.
From protests...
..To Battlefield
The huge green expanse at the center of Brasilia went from protest site to something that looks like a battlefield as authorities moved in.  Protesters are demanding that President Michel Temer step down and halt his conservative economic austerity agenda that is harming families and communities, and call fresh elections.  Temer was not elected, he was appointed last year after the conservative congress impeached President Dilma Rousseff for (altogether now, say it with me) something that is not a crime.  Temer is refusing to step down despite growing evidence of flagrant corruption, including the authorization of hush money paid to friends.

Fast-moving developments in the Manchester suicide bombing:  Police in the UK say six people have been arrested in the attack which killed 22 people and injured scores of others as they exited the Manchester Arena following the performance of an American pop singer.  Police have been carrying out raids in various locations around the city all day.
Salman Abedi
Investigators seem certain that the 22-year old suspected bomber Salman Abedi - a troubled young university dropout with suspected gang ties and petty crime - could not have carried out the plot alone:  "It's very clear that this is a network we are investigating," said Greater Manchester Chief Constable Ian Hopkins.

Salman Abedi had only returned to the UK in the past few days, apparently to carry out the Manchester attack.  A spokesman for Libya's counter-terrorism force said the Manchester suspect's younger brother Hashem Abedi was arrested there for allegedly planning his own terrorist attack in Tripoli.

They also believe the younger Abedi has ties to the so-called Islamic State.  Both young men were born in the UK, but had all sorts of problems with gang ties and petty crime.  A family friend told CNN that their father reportedly took them to Libya, the land of his birth, to get them away from the problems in Manchester.  Dad reportedly took his sons' passports away so they couldn't leave Libya; Salman got his back by lying to his father about plans to make a religious pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia; Hashem found his own trouble in Tripoli.  For his efforts, 51-year old Ramadan Abedi is also under arrest in Libya.  He told the Reuters news agency that he condemns "terrorist acts on civilians and innocent people".

UK Home secretary Amber Rudd is condemning the US for intelligence leaks, stopping short of saying the Yanks compromised the Manchester bombing investigation:  "I wouldn't go that far but I can say they are perfectly clear about the situation and that it shouldn't happen again," said Ms. Rudd after US sources announced the name of the bombing suspect, the number of injured, and other details before the Greater Manchester Police gave its approval.  "It is irritating when it gets released from other sources and I have been very clear with our friends that that should not happen again."  Australia shares intelligence with the US as part of the "Five Eyes" intelligence alliance with the UK, New Zealand, and Canada.

Israel is acknowledging that the Mossad was forced to to make a "pinpoint" change in its operations after Donald Trump blabbed highly classified information to visiting Russian officials in the Oval Office.  "Everything that needed to be clarified with the friends in the US was done," said Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman.  "All of the conclusions we had to draw - it was all done."  Mind you, Israel doesn't like to confirm or deny anything in the military or intelligence realms, so that fact that Mr. Lieberman said this is astonishing and possibly indicative to the damage that Trump had done when he bragged to Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the location of a source embedded in the so-called Islamic State.  During the orange clown's visit to Israel this week, he pretty much confirmed speculation that an Israeli agent was the source of the secret he spilled.

Donald Trump's blabbing apparently endangers US forces, too:  The Intercept published a transcript of a phone conversation between Trump and one of his favorite despots, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, in which Trump revealed the locations of two US Navy Nuclear Submarines near North Korea - like the Russian leak, made while boasting.  Trump congratulated the blood-drenched Duterte for his Drug War in which thousands of people have been gunned down in vigilante or extra-judicial killings for unproven ties to drug dealing.  Human rights groups say thousands of innocents have died.

Thousands of people are fleeing the Philippine island of Mindanao as troops try to dislodge Muslim rebels who have taken control of large parts of Marawi city, taking Christian hostage in the process.  The Islamists seized Marawi's Catholic Cathedral, burned another Catholic church, the city jail, and two schools; they also control the main streets and two bridges leading into town.  President Duterte cut short a diplomatic trip to Russia to deal with the situation.  He's threatening to extend martial law from Mindanao to the entire archipelago:  "If I think you should die, you will die.  If you fight us, you will die.  If there's an open defiance, you will die, and if it means many people dying, so be it.  That's how it is," Duterte said.

There are now ten dead in this year's climbing season on Mount Everest.  A rescue team sent to retrieve the body of a Slovak climber who died on the mountain on Sunday came across a tent with four bodies inside - two foreign climbers and their Sherpa guides.  Australian Francesco Marchetti of Queensland died on the mountain last weekend.

Pope Francis "greeted" Donald Trump and family as they visited the Vatican.  The pontiff appeared glum as he shook Trump's hand; things warmed up after that as the two sat in Francis' office, although it looked like Frank was lecturing the orange clown.  They exchanged gifts:  Trump gave Francis a first-edition set of King's five books, which were custom-bound and accented with gold hand-tooling.  The Pope gave Trump his book about Global Warming HINT HINT HINT.  The leader of the world's Roman Catholics was somewhat more at ease with Melania.
Dear Lord, Why Hast Thou Abandoned Me Among These Trumps?
Later, the Pope frowned again during the official pool photo, in which Ivanka and Melania were dressed like Wednesday and Morticia Addams and Trump had that hideous forced grin he does.  The whole thing was down in a matter of minutes and the Trumps were out the door.
