Good Morning Australia!! - Shocking new allegations against Trump's Supreme Court pick - A Republican US Senator warns his colleagues to stop the inflammatory rhetoric - The city where hundreds of cops were sacked for corruption - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

The third woman to accuse US Supreme Court nominee Michael Avenatti of sexual impropriety has come forward, and her story is incredibly disturbing.  Julie Swetnick accuses Kavanaugh and his high school friend of organizing and taking part in gang rapes at drunken teenage parties, including one that she was a victim of, when they were in high school in the 1980s.  Kavanaugh denies the allegations as being "out of the Twilight Zone".  Ms. Swetnick is a veteran US government contractor with multiple security clearances, meaning her life has been vetted by the FBI over and over again.  Accuser #2 claimed Kavanaugh dropped his pants and thrust his genitals in her face at Yale University; the first accuser will testify on her allegations that Kavanaugh allegedly tried to rape her, at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday in Washington.

Arizona Republican US Senator Jeff Flake says his family has been threatened with being "taken out" for his insistence that the first accuser be allowed to testify at the hearing tomorrow.  This came in a speech in the Senate in which Mr. Flake rebuked Donald Trump as "uncaring and uninformed" for casting doubt on the accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, and some of his own Republican colleagues for making up their minds before she has a chance to speak:  "And so I will say to these witnesses - these human beings - we owe both of you a sincere apology.  An apology is inadequate, of course, but it's a start."  And he warned his colleagues over the over-the-top rhetoric to protect Kavanaugh and smear the accusers: "We have lit a match, my colleagues.  The question is, do we appreciate how close the powder keg is?"

Donald Trump went before the UN Security Council and accused China of trying to interfere with the upcoming Midterm Elections - and offered absolutely no proof for his claim.  China "doesn't want me to win", he said - despite Trump not actually being up for reelection until 2020.  Trump's Republicans are at risk; all of the US House of Representatives lawmakers are up, along with about a third of the Senate where Republicans currently hold a razor-thin, one-vote majority.  Polling has shown US voters want a change from the Republican majority, but polls and US elections.. well, you know.

A British investigative website says it has uncovered the real identity of one of the Russians identified by British authorities are taking part in the Novichok attack, and he's no "tourist".  The man named as "Ruslan Borishov" is actually Colonel Anatoliy Vladimirovich Chepiga, a decorated Colonel in Russia's military, according to Bellingcat, a website which covers intelligence matters. The report was subsequently picked up by the BBC and The Daily Telegraph.  Chepiga and another man are seen in surveillance images near the scene where former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter were poisoned with the Russian nerve agent Novichok; they survived the attack, but a British woman who handled a discarded container of the toxin later died.

A woman who runs a Facebook group opposing Brazil's far-right presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro was attacked and beaten by three men outside her home.  "One of them got out of the back of the car and punched me," said the woman who is anonymous for security reasons.  Another attacker took her phone before they fled in a cab that was waiting a block away.  Bolsonaro, who has trashed women, LGBT people, and Brazilians of African descent in his campaign, is recovering from a stab wound.  Although he was running high in polls, the #EleNao (#NotHim) campaign on social media has reduced his support among women.  Brazil's presidential election is 7 October.

The UN says 21 civilians were killed in separate air strikes in Afghanistan.  "Ten of those killed were children whose ages ranged from six to 15," including eight girls, according to the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).  It's unclear whether the air strikes were carried out by Afghan or NATO forces.

Mexico has deemed the Acapulco Police department so corrupt and infiltrated by drug gangs that it sacked and disarmed all 700 officers.  Government troops will now patrol the streets of one of the world's most popular tropical resorts.
