British Prime Minister Theresa May managed to survive another day in office as talks to form a coalition with the far-right Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland drag on.  The negotiations is causing a delay of the Queen's Speech in which the government outlines its plans for the coming year.  Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn accuses the PM of "squatting" in 10 Downing Street as her government lies in "chaos".  Lib-Dem leader Tim Farron says the delay is an "utter humiliation" for Ms. May, who needs to "stop trying to cling to power".

An earthquake rocked the Greek island of Lesbos, killing one woman and damaging several old homes.

US-backed Syrian rebels have reached the walls of the old city in Raqqa, the de facto capital of the so-called Islamic State.  The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), made up of Kurdish and Arab militias, launched the campaign to dislodge IS a week ago.  It's believed what passes for a government center is defended by 3,000 - 4,000 jihadists, while other fighters are clashing with the SDF in the industrialized al-Sanaa neighborhood.

Nigeria says soldiers killed a top Boko Haram leader and several fighters while freeing nine children being trained at a terrorist camp.  The Islamist terrorist group has in the past used kidnapped girls and boys to carry out suicide attacks.  Another 24 Boko Haram figured were arrested in another part of Nigeria.

Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipila pulled the plug on his ruling coalition after the junior partner and Eurosceptic Finns party elected an anti-immigration xealot as leader.  Jussi Halla-aho has been convicted of hate speech for anti-Islamic and anti-Somali comments.  Also in the nordic region, Norway is proposing a ban on full-face veils that are worn by some Muslim women in nurseries, schools, and universities.  The idea is that the items hinder face-to-face communication between teacher and student.  The ban would cover niqabs, hijabs, burkas, but also balaclavas which aren't associated with any religion.

A US Federal Court has once again dealt a blow to the orange clown's proposed ban on people from six predominately Muslim countries -- and like other courts, used his tweets against him.  Donald Trump last week tweeted, "we need a TRAVEL BAN for certain DANGEROUS countries".  The three-judge panel wrote that Trump "recently confirmed his assessment that it is the 'countries' that are inherently dangerous, rather than the 180 million individual nationals of those countries who are barred from entry under the President's 'travel ban,'."  Other courts have ruled that Trump's anti-Muslim tweets proved the unconstitutional intent of his travel ban.

The Attorneys General of Maryland and the District of Columbia sued Trump for allegedly profiting from foreign payments made to his businesses.  The suit says that by failing to divest of his hotels and golf courses, Trump is violating the US Constitution's emoluments clause, which prohibits government officials from accepting funds from foreign governments.  "We are a nation of laws, and no one, including the president of the United States, is above the law," said DC's Karl Racine.  The White House denies the charges.

Trump's daughter Ivanka appeared on TV to complain that she didn't expect "viciousness" in politics.  As a reminder, her vile father: began his presidential campaign by declaring Mexicans to be "drug dealers", "criminals, and "rapists"; immaturely mocked a disabled reporter; carried on mean-spirited twitter feuds with celebrities; threatened protesters and journalists with mob violence; bragged about grabbing women by the p***y.  Rich kid's problems.
