As it all comes back to Russia, former US National Security Advisor Michael Flynn is refusing to testify before congress in the Senate Intelligence Committee's inquiry into the Trump presidential campaigns ties to Russia.  Flynn plans to invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.  The disgraced former general had already been fired once by Barack Obama, but was favored by Trump only to flame out after less than a month over his repeated contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

On the Israeli leg of his international trip, huckster Donald Trump vowed that Iran will never get nuclear weapons.  Yeah, because the Obama administration already got Tehran to sign on to the deal in which Iran gives up its nuclear ambitions in exchange for sanctions relief - the deal which Trump opposed in 2016, but reaffirmed last week.  When Trump claimed that the US and Israel shared a "common cause" with its Arab neighbours in "the threat posed by Iran", Iranian President Hassan Rouhani responded:  "Who can say regional stability can be restored without Iran? Who can say the region will experience total stability without Iran?"  Rouhani added, "We are waiting for the new US administration to find stability and continuity in its policies."

Trump arrived at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel earlier, where he reached for Melania's hand and she slapped it away.  Go ahead, click the GIF:

Overall, it was a warm greeting extended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife - who reassured the big baby that everyone loves him, no matter what the big, bad media says.  They visited the Western Wall.  Later, Trump meets with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.

Getting back to his Russia troubles, Trump appeared to have made a significant gaffe:  He lost his temper at reporters, telling them that when he leaked a key piece of classified information about the so-called Islamic State to Russia's Foreign Minister and Ambassador, he didn't say that Israel was the source for a key piece of classified information.  By denying it without provocation, he appears to confirm that Israel was the source.  And since Trump told the Russians the city from which the information came, Russia - and by extension its allies Syria and Iran and their allies - knows there is an Israeli spy in IS in a specific city.  Israeli media has already reported that because of Trump, that spy is in danger, assuming he's still alive.  Way to go, ya big sieve!

Turkey paraded dozens of people charged in last year's attempted coup past a hostile, pre-fab crowd of government supporters.  Some chanted for the death penalty, which isn't legal in Turkey (yet).  More than 200 military, police, and other officials are charged with trying to overthrow President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the crackdown hasn't stopped:  Police arrested two ex-teachers who are on a hunger strike to get their jobs back, having been part of the thousands dismissed from their jobs since last year over alleged ties to the coup. venus-escort.ch

A French TV host is under fire for using his show to humiliate gay men who responded to his fake ad on an LGBT dating site.  Cyril Hanouna of "Don't Touch My TV" denies homophobia after more than 20,000 complaints came in - a record number - for his using a feminine voice to read responses to his ad.  He also conversed with some unaware respondents on live TV, leading to fears they'd be outed.

Another troubling sign of growing intolerance in Indonesia, where cops arrested more than 140 people for attending an LGBT party - despite that fact that it's not illegal to be gay in Indonesia (yet), except in Aceh province.  Jakarta police spokesman Raden Argo Yuwono said some of those detained could be charged under Indonesia's harsh anti-pornography laws.  Two men were sentenced to be publicly caned after being caught together in Aceh last weeks, and before that Indonesian cops raided arrested another 14 people in the city of Surabaya for allegedly holding a gay party.

Thousands of travelers at Aussie airports were confronted with long queues and delayed flights because the computerized passport check in system for international flights failed on Monday.  Airport workers resorted to manually check peoples' passports.  Officials say was not the result of a cyber attack and the Advanced Passenger Processing (APP) system is back in normal operation today - but travelers should call their airlines to check for any residual delays.

An African big game hunter is dead after being crushed by his prey.  Theunis Botha and his hunting party attacked some elephants, a group that apparently included a pregnant mare.  One of the elephants stormed in and picked up Botha with its trunk.  The other hunters shot the elephant but it fell down on Botha killing him.
