Good Morning Australia!! - Trump issues his first executive orders, and it involves Australian interests - London joins a dirty list - Puppies give hope to rescue teams - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

For the first time under a new alert system, London is under a "very high" pollution warning.  It's called a Black Alert.  The UK capital joins Beijing, Paris, New Delhi and others in this dubious distinction.  Decrying the "the shameful state of London's toxic air," Mayor Sadiq Khan warned, "This is the highest level of alert and everyone - from the most vulnerable to the physically fit - may need to take precautions to protect themselves from the filthy air."  So far, only warnings are being passed out at transit stations and not car bans are in effect, although the cause is the burning of fossil fuels.

Swedish police arrested three men for raping a woman during a live stream on Facebook.  Apparently there were 60 people watching in a closed group on the site.  One woman saw it and called police, who got to the scene quickly enough to get all of the suspects at the scene, one of whom was armed with a gun.  Then, police shut off the camera, ending the broadcast.

Suicide bombers in Nigeria hid their explosives with the babies they were carrying when the charges went off.  This incredibly sick atrocity happened in the northeast, close to the area where Boko Haram continues to vex police and the military.  Officials fear the use of babies could signal a "dangerous" trend used by the terrorist group.

The latest round of talks to end the Syrian Civil War began with a government representative blasting rebel negotiators for "provocative" comments that were "removed from diplomacy".  UN sponsored talks in Geneva failed, and the US has abdicated its leadership position because of its moron new president.  These talks are taking place in Kazakhstan's capital Astana, and are sponsored by Russia.  For first time, the opposition delegation is formed exclusively of representatives of armed groups that are actually involved in the fighting.

A Washington watchdog group has filed suit against Donald Trump, alleging he violated the US Constitution the moment he took the oath as 45th president (puke) of the United States.  Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) says Trump has breached the Emoluments Clause:  It specifically states that "no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under (the United States), shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State".  Trump has not divested his real estate holdings, which take in rent, room rentals and other payments from foreign governments.  The defendant said the suit is "totally without merit".

Trump signed an executive order to withdraw the US from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, fulfilling a campaign promise.  The US, Australia, New Zealand, and nine other nations signed it in Auckland almost a year ago, but only Japan has ratified it.  The move doesn't impact any current trade policy, but signals a more protectionist path for the US.  Although Trump's reasoning is gaseous at best, bailing out of the TPP is a victory for unions, environmentalists, and consumer groups.  Two other executive orders slash American aid to groups that provide or promote abortions overseas, and put in place an immediate non-military federal hiring freeze - right wing, jingoistic crap.

European farmers sure know how to protest!!  That blowed up good, real good.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte is injecting some xenophobia into the campaign, weeks before parliamentary elections.  Rutte says, "Act normal, or go away," meaning that anyone who rejects the country's values should leave.  Rutte's liberal VVD Party is seeking to reclaim territory lost to the ultra-right and ironically named Freedom Party that hopes to ride the wave of demagoguery and racist idiocy before the 15 March elections.

Rescuers pulled three puppies out from an air pocket in the Hotel Rigopiano in Italy's Abruzzo region, five days after it was buried in an avalanche.  The discovery raises hopes there could be more people alive under there.  Nine people have been brought out alive so far, while two were found outside the hotel - seven are dead and 22 are still missing.

Multinational police agencies Europol and Interpol recovered more than 3,500 stolen artworks and cultural artifacts in a series of raids.  Some of the items are ancient and priceless, such as a marble tombstone from the Ottoman empire and a Byzantine image of Saint George slaying a Dragon.  75 were arrested in "Operation Pandora"  - tens of thousands of suspects are being investigated.

Zambian police are henceforth banned from marrying foreigners, and those officers already in such marriages must immediately declare it.  Police officials are rationalizing the order from inspector general Kakoma Kanganja using the standard excuse for ridiculousness, "national security".
