Good Morning Australia!! - London honors the fallen in Saturday's terrorist attack - Instead of supporting his closest ally, Trump goes on the attack - The weird reason that might explain why the Gulf states are cross with one of their own - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

Huge crowds gathered along the Thames River for the vigil to honor the victims who were killed in the London Bridge terror attacks on Saturday night.  London Mayor Sadiq Khan condemned the "perverse ideology" of the attackers and defiantly declared, "This is our city, these are our values.  This is our way of life, London will never be broken by terrorism," adding, "We will step up the fight against extremism and we will defeat the terrorists."  Mayor Khan's short speech was followed by a minute's silence.  He also laid flowers alongside Home Secretary Amber Rudd and Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott.

But even as Mayor Khan worked to heal a city, another attack came - from the other partner in the so-called "special relationship"  Orange clown Donald Trump renewed his attack on the London mayor as "pathetic" for telling citizens not to be alarmed by an increase in police presence - common sense advice which Trump originally and quite deliberately took out of context a day earlier.  After the vigil, Khan told Channel Four that the UK should not roll out the red carpet for such a boor.  Although Khan is a Labour Mayor, his sentiment was echoed by Lib-Dem leader Tim Farron who called on Downing Street to rescind its invitation to Trump to visit:  "Trump is an embarrassment to America," Farron said, "(Prime Minister) Theresa May absolutely must withdraw the state visit," because, "This is a man insulting our national values at a time of introspection and mourning," ending with, "We need a special relationship not a supine relationship."  With only days to go until the election, PM May could muster a small defense of her capital's mayor, saying he was doing a "good job".

Five Aussies were hurt in the London attack, including Brisbane's Candice Hedge and Darwin electrician Andrew Morrison who are recovering in hospital.  There are fears for 21-year old Sara Zelenak of Queensland, who has not been heard from since the attack.  In all, six people are missing since the attack.

London Metropolitan Police have identified the three attackers from Saturday night's stabbing spree - and like past terrorist attacks, all of the warning signs were there.  Neighbors and Muslim community members had complained to police that 27-year old Khuram Butt was preaching hateful extremism and trying to recruit kids.  The three had taken to wearing robes around while referring to themselves as "sheikhs", and Butt was thrown out of his mosque "after he interrupted a sermon to say that voting in the general election was 'un-Islamic'".

Butt even featured in a Channel Four documentary about extremism in the UK.  But even though police and MI-5 had looked into it "there was no intelligence to suggest that this attack was being planned and the investigation had been prioritized accordingly," according to a statement from the Met.  Likewise, 30-year old Rachid Redouane - who carried a Republic of Ireland ID card - was being monitored by the Garda, according to Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenney.

On Saturday night, 27-year old Butt along with fellow Barking residents Redouane and another man identified as "Moroccan-Libyan" went on a stabbing spree in a London nightlife district, a split second of it caught on a mobile video.  They reportedly shouted, "This is for Allah" as they randomly slashed people's faces and throats.  They killed seven people and injured 48 before being shot dead by Met police.

In stupid, violent America, a sacked employee picked up a gun and killed five people at his former workplace in Orlando, Florida, which manufactured awnings for campers and mobile homes.  The 54-year old gunman was said to be a military vet with anger issues.  This comes just a week before the first anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting in the city in which 49 people were killed.

Did several Arab states really break off diplomatic ties and transport links with Qatar because the tiny but gas-rich Gulf state paid a US$a Billion ransom to Iran to secure the release of a royal arrested by the Arab's regional rival?  Officially, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and several allied smaller states say they cut ties because of Doha's supposed support of terrorism.  The nations are giving Qatari diplomats and citizens hours to clear out and Saudi Arabia went a step further by shutting down the local bureau of Qatar-based Al Jazeera news.

Germany is planning move its aircraft and military personnel out of Turkey's Incirlik airbase, a key facility used by NATO forces.  This comes after Turkey refused to allow visits by German lawmakers.

Several Finland police officers face prosecution for belonging to a far-right anti-immigrant Facebook page and posting racist comments about migrants.  "Every Finnish national has freedom of speech, but the police are supposed to behave in their spare time in a way that doesn't make the police look bad," said a police spokesperson.
