The US is warning that next month's Euro 2016 Football Tournament could be the target of terrorism.  Up to a million foreign tourists are expected in France for the games at various venues to be held from 10 June to 10 July.  But the country is already under a state of alert from last November's terrorist attacks in Paris that killed 130 people.  And in March, 32 people died in suicide bombings in Brussels, Belgium - both attacks were claimed by Islamic State.

As Iraqi and allied forces move deeper into Falluja, Islamic State is reportedly using trapped civilians as human shields.  As many as 50,000 civilians are believed to be trapped in Falluja as Iraq seeks to reclaim the city from two years of occupation by the terrorists.

An air raid in residential areas of the northern Syrian city of Idlib has killed at least 23 people and possibly up to 60.  A Syrian monitoring group in London and Turkey claim Russia is responsible, while Moscow denies this.  Russia is supporting the Syrian government in the country's five year old civil war by carrying out air raids on purported rebel positions.

A report says more than 45 million people are living as modern slaves around the world, mostly in Asia.  The human rights group Walk Free Foundation increased its estimate from more than 35 Million in 2014 because of the huge numbers of refugees on the move who are vulnerable to human traffickers.  These people are born into servitude, trafficked for sex work, or trapped in debt bondage or forced labor with no government to appeal to for recourse.

Malaysia fired 15 immigration officers, accusing them of sabotaging passport entry systems so that some people could enter the country without criminal background checks.  Investigators say as many as 100 officers might be involved in the deliberate breach.

A second minister in Brazil's all-white male interim (coup) government has been forced to step down amid corruption allegations.  Fabiano Silveira is the second interim minister to step down, after a recording surfaced showing how he discussed the impeachment process against democratically-elected President Dilma Rousseff was actually intended to short-circuit a massive corruption investigation in congress.  And yes, this is exactly the same reason why ex-Planning Minister Romero Juca had to step down a week earlier.  Corrupt-to-the-gills Brazilian legislators voted to suspend DIlma Rousseff pending an impeachment trial on allegations of non-criminal accounting irregularities.

An electoral commission is recommending that Haiti scrap its current presidential elections and start all over again.  Last October's first round was ridiculously corrupted by so-called "zombie votes" cast by people who were entirely too dead to have actually made it to the polls.  And April's planned second round was delayed because of unrest.  Haiti is under the care of unappointed Interim President Jocelerme Privert, who would really rather be doing something else.

Horses take shelter on the front porch as flooding disrupts much of Texas.

A big, BIG alligator stuns golfers on a Florida golf course.  But a little further south, two 'gators were found gnawing on the remains of an unidentfied human.  Police in the Everglades town of Davie say the person was probably already dead, as alligators generally don't attack humans.  Crocs do.

A West Australia surfer is in a critical condition after being attacked by a shark.  This happened late Tuesday afternoon off Mandurah south of Perth.  29-year old Ben Gerring was paddling out for one more wave when the beast came and took one of his legs, biting the surf board in half in the process.  There had been a few shark sitings in the area, including a report from one person who saw a 3.5 Meter Great White at Pyramids Beach, about five kilometers south of where the shark attacked Mr. Gerring.

A former Miss Turkey was sentenced to a 14-month suspended prison sentence for insulting notoriously thin-skinned Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a social media post.  The conditions of the sentence means that 27-year old Merve Buyuksarac will have to stay out of trouble for the next five years.  Buyuksarac plans to appeal.  Rights groups say Turkey has stomped all over free speech with its prosecutions of more than 2,000 people for offending Erdogan (who once had his balls kicked by a horse).

Here's all you need to know about racist, fascist, wussy, fatmouth and US Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump:  British theoretical physicist Professor Steven Hawking has declared that Trump is a "demagogue" who "appeals to the lowest common denominator", when asked about the orange clown's appeal on a UK morning show. BTW, Trump's supporters were so upset that they stubbed their toes running to find dictionaries and look up the strange words "demagogue" and "denominator".

But Trump is getting an endorsement:  State-run media in the world's most repressive state North Korea is urging US voters to vote for "wise politician" Donald Trump over "dull" Hillary Clinton.
