Good Morning Australia!! - North Korea tells the world it wants attention - Pope Francis fails to delivery for the Rohingya - An anti-immigration terrorist stabs a mayor in the neck - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

North Korea launched a ballistic missile this morning, according to the US and South Korea.  This would be the North's seventh such test of the year, and the first one since September's launch which went over northern Japan into the Pacific Ocean.  Tokyo believes the missile launched today from the Pyongsong base came down in Japan's exclusive economic zone in the Sea of Japan.  On 20 November, the US put North Korea on its list of nations that sponsor terrorism and encouraged other nations to scale back what few economic ties they have to Pyongyang.

It appears far fewer than than 150,000 told to evacuate from around Indonesia's Mount Agung have actually done so.  The latest count in Bali's evacuation shelters indicate only 30,000 people have checked in.  Officials are warning that a major eruption is imminent - possibly as strong as the one that killed up to 1,500 people in the mid-1960s.

Pope Francis delivered a strong defense of ethnic and minority rights in a speech to government officials in Myanmar - but he failed to specifically mention the Rohingya, who have been the targets of an ethnic cleansing campaign by the military and nationalist mobs in western Rakhine State.  Local Catholic officials reportedly urged the Pope to do it this way to avoid creating problems for minority Roman Catholics in the predominantly-Buddhist country.  Amnesty International and other rights groups expressed disappointment in the Pope's omission.  In past speeches in Rome and elsewhere, Francis has referred to the Rohingya as his "brothers and sisters".  Over the last few months, Myanmar chased more than 620,000 Rohingya into squalid refugee camps in Bangladesh and it's not clear how many have been killed in ethnic violence.  The Rohingya have lived in Myanmar for centuries, but the government considers them illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.

Argentina's Navy is confirming a news report that salt water had leaked into the missing submarine ARA San Juan via its snorkel; this apparently caused the short-circuit in the batteries that the captain spoke of in the moments before it lost contact with the world.  Argentine TV channel A24 says part of the final message broadcast by the captain went, "Sea water entering through the ventilation system into battery tank number 3 caused a short circuit and the early stages of a fire in the battery bank," and, "Crew OK, will keep informing."  That was on 15 November, and the sub has not been in contact since.  The snorkel is ordinarily used for drawing fresh air into the vessel while it is submerged.

Ireland's relatively new government avoided collapse with the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister Frances Fitzgerald, who quit just before a no confidence vote.  The opposition condemned Ms. Fitzgerald over her apparent lack of support for a Police whistle-blower who made allegations of corruption and malpractice in the national police Garda Siochana.

That means that Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar goes into next month's EU meeting free of the shadow of possible snap elections hanging over him.  Not so much for German Chancellor Angela Merkel - Germany's grand coalition talks have been pushed back until after the New Year, leaving questions about the stability of that government out on the front porch for all to see.

The conservative Mayor of Altena, Germany is recovering after being stabbed in the neck.  His attacker, now in police custody, was screaming about Andreas Hollstein's welcoming policy towards refugees and was stopped by the ethnic-Turkish owner of a local Kebab shop.  His town in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) is celebrated for having accepted more than its quota of migrants during the recent refugee crisis.   You may recall that in 2015, politician Henriette Reker was also stabbed by a Caucasian anti-immigration extremist terrorist as she campaigned for Mayor of the city of Cologne - she won that race.
