Hello Australia!! - A hundred children are dead in Aleppo, but it's not the most shocking statistic out of Syria - Thin-skinned Trump disqualifies himself with his latest twitter meltdown - How not to cover-up a crime - Panda-monium - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

Russian air strikes in Syria have killed more than 9,000 people since its air strikes began on 30 September of last year; and the Russian and Syrian government onslaught in Aleppo has killed 338 people in the last week, including more than 100 children.  These numbers are coming from Syrian opposition monitoring groups and the UN World Health Organization.  Civilian deaths make up more than 3,800 of the Russian toll; 2,814 members of Al Aqeda and other militant groups were second, and Islamic State was third losing 2,746 soldiers to Russian air strikes.  Meanwhile, the two super powers of this proxy war, Russia and the US, continue to point fingers:  Russia claims the US is protecting the Al Qaeda-linked Al Nusra Front, while the US accuses Russia carelessness of driving so-called "moderate" groups towards deeper ties with the extremists.

Leaders from around the world including Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull praised the late Israeli statesman Shimon Peres, as he was laid to rest days after his death at the age of 93.  US President Barack Obama lauded the presence of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas at the funeral, and said it was a reminder of the "unfinished business of peace".

Jewish leaders are demanding apologies from the Philippines lunatic President Rodrigo Duterte, for making light of the Holocaust and comparing himself to Hitler - favorably, no less.  Duterte noted that Hitler killed six million Jews, and he wanted to kill half as many "drug addicts" in his grisly war on drugs in which more than 3,000 have died in lynchings and extra-judicial executions.  The World Jewish Congress said that Duterte's latest rant was "truly heart-breaking for the democratically elected leader of a great country"; the Anti-Defamation League said the comments were "inappropriate and deeply offensive"; and the Simon Wiesenthal Center likewise demanding an apology for Duterte's "disgusting rhetoric".

Three Chinese fishers died after the South Korean Coast Guard boarded their vessel and set off flash-bang grenades.  The South Koreans were investigating if the boat had the proper permits for fishing in their waters, when the three barricaded themselves in the wheelhouse and the authorities used the grenades to try and force them out.  Another 14 crew members survived the incident and are being questioned.  China is demanding a full investigation.

A man has reportedly admitted to killing 17 people in southwest China to cover up the murder of his parents in a squabble over money.  Police picked up suspect Yang Qingpei in in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province.  The youngest victim was just three years old, the oldest was aged 72 years.

The orange clown Donald Trump was up at 3:00 AM on Friday morning, spitting out an angry and sexist stream of tweets against former Miss Universe Alicia Machado.  The presidential nominee of the US Republican Party urged people to look up a pornographic video purportedly featuring Ms. Machado, a private citizen - the claim was already debunked before Trump tweeted.  Trump has been smouldering angry at Machado ever since Monday's ass-kicking by Hillary Clinton at their first debate, because Clinton had brought up Trump's treatment of Machado at his beauty contest and afterwards when he called her "Miss Piggy" because she gained a little weight.  Trump called Machado "disgusting" and suggested that Clinton somehow helped her get US citizenship.

"The attacks are slanders and lies full of bad intentions, with no basis," Machado replied.  "With his hate campaign, the Republican candidate insists in discrediting and demoralizing a woman - one of his worse characteristics."  Hillary Clinton tweeted that the episode was "unhinged, even for Trump", and, "What kind of man stays up all night to smear a woman with lies and conspiracy theories?"  She continued to rub it in on the campaign trail.

It's petty and shallow vendettas like these that prompted the newspaper USA Today to break its 34 year moratorium on political endorsements, and urge readers to vote for Hillary Clinton.  Trump, says the paper, is "erratic" and "unfit for the presidency", a "serial liar" who "isn't leveling with the American people", has "coarsened the national dialogue".

Back when I was a kid, breeding Panda Bears was one of the most impossible tasks of zoologists racing to save the species.  These days, China is practically infested with the adorable little furballs.
