Donald Trump fired Steve Bannon, his white nationalist top advisor and spiritual leader of the alt-right news site Breitbart.  Supposedly, Bannon handed in his resignation earlier this month, prior to the racist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia in which nazi scum murdered a peaceful and unarmed counter-protester.  However, Trump has just now decided to accept it.  Rumors of Bannon clashing with other members of the Trump administration have been around for a while; his enemies included the military wing of the Trump administration, represented by new chief of staff and retired Marine Corps general Ray Kelly; the traditional big business wing of the Republican party; and even members of the Trump family.  The catalyst appeared to have been an interview that Bannon gave to the Left-wing American Prospect magazine in which he claimed credit for Trump's "election".

Bannon represented the alt-right, white nationalist wing of morons who get their news from the crackpot website Breitbart, where Bannon is rumored to be returning.  Editor Joel Pollak greeted the news of Bannon's firing with the single word tweet, "#War," indicating that neonazi scum might now switch to opposing Trump, or at least step up propaganda efforts against Bannon's perceived enemies in the administration.  That was supported with a follow-up link to a column that unfavorably compares Trump to Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose failed tenure as California governor was a massive disappointment to the right.

The mother of the young woman murdered by an alt right neonazi says she will not meet or speak with Donald Trump because of his disgusting and shameful equating of the violent racists who attacked Charlottesville and the peaceful counter protesters who stood up to them.  "You can't wash this one away by shaking my hand and saying I'm sorry," said Susan Bro, mother of Heather Heyer; "Think before you speak," Ms. Bro advised the orange clown.  The White House tried to call Ms. Bro three times since Tuesday's unhinged news conference on Tuesday in which he blamed "both sides" and said that counter protesters - which includes Heyer - were morally equivalent to the neonazis.

Authorities filed five more felony counts against James Alex Fields, the white supremacist scumbag who crashed his car into counterprotesters in Charlottesville, killing 32-year old Heather Heyer.  The new charges - three counts of aggravated malicious wounding plus two counts of malicious wounding - are on top of the Second Degree Murder charge for Ms. Heyer's death, plus malicious wounding and failure to stop after a crash.

Major charities are tripping over each other to cancel or pull out of events at Trump's garish Mar-a-Lago golf resort in Florida.  The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, The American Cancer Society and others are at the top of the list pulling the plug on fundraisers to avoid getting the stain of Trump's overt racism on their organizations.  "The hatred, vitriol and Anti-Semitic and racist views being spewed by neonazis and White Supremacists are repugnant and repulsive," wrote philanthropist Lois Pope, who heads education non-profits.  "And anyone who would demonstrate even a modicum of support for them by insisting that there are 'good people' among them is not deserving of my personal patronage or that of my foundations."

ANYWAY...

Police in Finland say it's too soon to tell if a stabbing attack in a market square in the city of Turku was related to international terrorism.  Two people died and six are injured.  Cops shot the suspect in the leg and arrested him.

Bone fragments from at least 100 people have been recovered from a mass grave outside Tijuana, Mexico.  They're believed to be the victims of drug gang violence.

Abuh the giant tortoise is back home in the Shibukawa Zoo in Japan.  After going missing two weeks ago, keepers found her crawling very slowly along a highway a mere 140 meters away.  Mind you, an escaped hare probably would have gotten further but would have been caught earlier (if I remember that fable correctly).
