Hello Australia!! - Trump reportedly stunned that his ex-lawyer recorded their secret conversations - Several children are killed in the sinking of a tour boat in a Country Music mecca - France deals with the official who beat May Day protesters - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

The FBI now has a recording of Donald Trump and his then-attorney Michael Cohen discussing a payment Trump made to an ex-Playboy model Karen McDougall, who maintains she had a ten month affair with Trump after the birth of his youngest son Baron.  Trump previously denied the affair.  But on the recording, Trump and Cohen reportedly discuss getting an tabloid newspaper allied with Trump to buy the women's story and bury it.  And Cohen reportedly had more recordings to Trump's conversations with other "powerful" individuals, which are apparently in the hands of the FBI.

Whether the audio recording contains damaging or incriminating information on Trump is not known.  Trump's current lawyer, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, claimed that it will exonerate Trump, but Giuliani claims that about everything.  Cohen's lawyer Lanny Davis, who defended then-President Bill Clinton through the republican party's failed impeachment in the 1990s, told CNN that the audio recording certainly "will not hurt Mr. Cohen and any attempt to spin cannot change what is on the tape," an obvious reference to Giuliani.  Perhaps Trump himself revealed something about the content of this and other recordings now possessed by federal investigators:  "I can't believe Michael would do this to me." he reportedly said after the news broke.

ANYWAY..

Authorities have recovered all 17 bodies from a lake in the central US state of Missouri where a "duck boat" sank during a heavy storm.  The US National Weather Service had issued a thunderstorm alert for Table Rock Lake outside the tourist city of Branson before the tragedy.  Horrifying footage shows two of the the bus-boat hybrids struggling in the choppy waters, when one of the noses goes under just ten meters or so from the dock where it would have reached safety.  Only one made it to shore.  Several of the dead are children, and nine were reportedly members of one family visiting the Country Music tourism hot spot from their home in Indiana.

A man with a knife attacked and injured 14 people on a bus in Germany.  This happened in Luebeck in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein, where police say no one was killed and the suspect was captured.  "The identity of the perpetrator has been clarified: a 34-year-old German citizen resident in Luebeck," police said in a social media statement.  Police said there was no indication the suspect had been politically radicalized.

The French government has sacked the senior presidential aide caught on video roughing up peaceful May Day protesters earlier this year.  And it turns out that Alexandre Benalla had already been given a two-week suspension a few days after the incident, suggesting that someone in Emmanuel Macron's government knew about it.  Benalla is seen on video wearing a police helmet beating a woman and a man.

At least two Palestinians are dead after Israel pounded Gaza with airstrikes.  This was reportedly in retaliation for the shooting of an Israeli defense force soldier near the Gaza border.  The soldier later died.

Cyber attackers hacked into the Singapore's government health database and pilfered the personal data of about 1.5 million people.  One of them is Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, a cancer survivor who was "specifically and repeatedly targeted"; he also ironically has made cyber security a priority of his government.  "It was not the work of casual hackers or criminal gangs," read the joint statement by the Health Ministry and the Ministry of Communications and Information, suggesting that a state actor or actor was responsible.
