Hello Australia!! - The UK is evacuating hundreds of council flats over fire risks - Was the Gulf States crisis caused by inconvenient news coverage? - A troubling litany of white cops unpunished for killing black people - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

A council in north London is evacuating more than 800 residents of high rise tower blocks after determining their buildings were clad with panels similar to the flammable material used on Grenfell Tower.  The Camden Council is the first to take such a dramatic step after the Grenfell Tower Fire that killed at least 78 people some ten days ago.  And unlike the lackluster response of the Kensington Chelsea council that oversaw the fire aftermath, Camden is booking entire hotels for the families who were forced to grab their gear and get out.  "Camden Council is absolutely determined to ensure that our residents are safe and we have promised them that we will work with them, continue to act swiftly and be open and transparent," said Camden Council leader Georgia Gould.

London Metro Police are considering manslaughter charges in the Grenfell Tower Fire, if criminal negligence is found.  "We will identify and investigate any criminal offense and, of course, given the deaths of so many people, we are considering manslaughter, as well as criminal offenses and breaches of legislation and regulations," said Deputy Superintendent Fiona McCormick.  The London Fire Brigade said the fire likely started with a faulty refrigerator in a fourth-floor unit in the 24-storey tower.  As a result, the government is running tests on the Hotpoint FF175BP fridge-freezer to determine if there could be a widespread fire hazard.

The Gulf States imposing severe restrictions on Qatar have revealed their ulterior motives with a list of demands to stop the impasse:  They're demanding Qatar shut down the Al Jazeera news network, reduce ties with Iran, and close a Turkish military base - all within 10 days.  The original rationale for the diplomatic and economic blockade was Qatar's alleged support of terrorism.  Al Jazeera recognized this for what it is, a flagrant attempt to "silence freedom of expression".  In a statement, the network said, "We assert our right to practice our journalism professionally without bowing to pressure from any government or authority."  Qatar's foreign minister says there will be no negotiations until Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the rest of its pals lift the diplomatic and trade embargoes.

Russia's election authority barred anti-corruption Alexei Navalny from running for president against Vladimir Putin next year, because of his embezzlement conviction which most human rights organizations recognize as trumped up and politically-motivated.  he plans to appeal the decision to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).  Separately, a court sentence Navalny to 30 days in jail for organization anti-government demonstrations earlier this month

The White House claims Donald Trump has no intention of firing Robert Mueller, the former FBI director who is leading the Justice Department investigation into Russian influence on Trump's presidential campaign.   Earlier in the day, the orange clown appeared on Murdoch's Fox News saying Mueller's friendship with the FBI director that Trump fired - James Comey - was "bothersome".  Congress is also investigating whether Comey's firing in May was an attempt by Trump to stop the Russia probe.  The move provoked so much outrage that the Justice Department quickly appointed Mueller.

It's been a great few weeks to be a US police officer accused of killing black people, after four attempts to convict killer cops have collapsed.  On Friday, an Ohio judge declared a mistrial after a mixed race jury deadlocked in the case of 27-year old white University cop Ray Tensing, who shot and killed 43-year old Sam DuBose, an unarmed black driver, for no reason.  And video showed it was an unjustified shoot.  Prosecutors called it the "most asinine act" ever by a police officer.

On Wednesday, a Milwaukee jury refused to convict a cop who killed another black man in Milwaukee, which set off rioting there a year ago.  Last week, a jury found a Minnesota cop not guilty in the shooting of beloved school cafeteria worker Philando Castile, despite video that clearly showed the shooting was unjustified.  Last month, Tulsa, Oklahoma Officer Betty Jo Shelby got away with killing unarmed black guy Terence Crutcher.  In each case, the officer claimed they felt "threatened".  All it takes is one hold-out on a jury to bring a mistrial.

But the town of Ferguson reached a US$1.5 Million settlement with the family of Michael Brown, the black teen murdered on 9 August 2014 by yet another white cop who got away with it.  The killing helped inspire the "Black Lives Matter" movement.

British police charged a man with terrorism-related murder and attempted murder for trying to run over Muslims outside a north London mosque.  47-year old Darren Osborne of Cardiff, Wales rented a white van and drove cross-country to attack people exiting evening prayers at the Finsbury Mosque; witnesses heard him yelling, "I'm going to kill all Muslims."

Chilean President Michelle Bachelet asked the indigenous Mapuche people for forgiveness for "errors and horrors" committed by the state.  This comes as the Mapuche are more and more in conflict with expanding agriculture and logging in the mountains 400 miles south of Santiago, the latest in a long string of clashes since the late 1800s when troops brutally invaded indigenous ancestral lands.  Bachelet also said she would ask congress to create an Indigenous Peoples' Ministry.  The announcement was boycotted by conservative lawmakers from the region who are linked to industry groups.

Tanzania President John Magufuli said girls who get pregnant should not be allowed to return to school, which has inspired a petition to get him to take back the IDIOTIC assertion.  At a rally earlier this week, Mr. Magufuli said, "After calculating some few mathematics, she'd be asking the teacher in the classroom: 'Let me go out and breastfeed my crying baby'."  In addition to denying education to girls, Magufuli said boys who impregnate girls should be imprisoned for 30 years and forced into farm labor.  So, he's pretty nuts.

Schools in Turkey will soon cease teaching evolution at the behest of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who isn't bothering to disguise his Islamist, "neo-Ottoman" agenda in the once-secular nation.  "We believe that these subjects are beyond their (students) comprehension," said education chief Alpaslan Durmus, who claims the theory of evolution is debatable.
