Sri Lanka is searching for around 140 people with suspected links to the so-called Islamic State, which took credit for the Easter Sunday bombings that killed more than 250 people and injured 500 more.  Police have already arrested 76 people over the attacks, including apparent foreign fighters from Syria and Egypt - many of the domestic suspects were highly education and from affluent families.  Separately, Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is confirming reports of a massive security failure before the bombings, telling the BBC that he was "out of the loop" when Indian intelligence told Sri Lankan defense officials of an impending terrorist operation ahead of the deadly Easter Sunday bombings.

A US court sentenced Maria Butina to 18 months in prison; the first Russian citizen convicted of crimes related to the 2016 presidential election will likely serve around nine months before being deported back to Russia.  Prosecutors maintained the Butina posed as a gun rights activist to infiltrate the National Rifle Association (NRA) gun lobby and high-level conservative circles and influence US relations with Russia.  "This was no simple misunderstanding by an overeager foreign student," said Judge Tanya Chutkan, who described Butina's operation as "sophisticated" and "dangerous".

Joe Biden's second day as a US Presidential candidate didn't go too well.  Anita Hill says his "regret" is not enough, after he finally called her to talk about the way she was treated in 1991 when she accused then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment.  Joe was head of the all-male, all-white US Senate Judiciary committee at the time, and didn't exactly distinguish himself when he forced Hill to discuss in graphic detail Thomas's sexual comments; he also failed to invite other women to testify who could have corroborated Hill's allegations.  This is the first time Biden has called her since 1991; in that time, he has run for president on other time and ran for vice president twice.  But then, neither of those campaigns followed the "#MeToo" movement.

Brazil's homophobic president Jair Bolsonaro, apparently unaware of the zillions of tourist dollars that come into his country every year, said his country shouldn't become a "gay tourism paradise".  Yeah, I know.. "become"?  Lulz.  "Brazil can't be a country of the gay world, of gay tourism.  We have families," he said.  "This is not a head of state - this is a national disgrace," said Rio de Janeiro councillor David Miranda to The Guardian newspaper, "He is staining the image of our country in every imaginable way."

Thousands of airline passengers were stranded when Scandanavian airline SAS pilots went on strike over pay and work schedules.  Talks had been going on for a month but broke down.  The pilots' union said, "Many SAS pilots have no control over when and how long they have to work. In a worst case scenario, they risk having to work seven weekends in a row," while the airline is expected to record a profit for the year.
