Hello Australia!! - Liberte, Egalite, and Burkini are okay in France - Trump's racist base panics as he pivots away from them - Italy begins to rebury its earthquake dead and makes plans for the future - And more in your CareerSpot World News Briefs:

France's highest administrative court struck down the burkini ban in the Riviera town of Villeneuve-Loubet, ruling that it "dealt a serious and clearly illegal blow to fundamental liberties such as freedom of movement, freedom of conscience, and personal liberty".  The Conseil d'Etat ruled there is absolutely no evidence that the swimwear marketed to Muslim women is a "threat" to public order.  The ruling doesn't end the debate in the country in which as many as 40 percent of those responding to polls say they favor burkini bans, with much of the remainder largely indifferent.

The UN blames "divisive" and "anti-immigrant" rhetoric by UK politicians for a spike in hate crimes before, during, and after the Brexit vote two months ago.  Authorities logged around 3,198 hate crimes in the period from 16-30 June.  That's a 42 percent increase from the same period in the previous year.

Eastern-most members of the European Union are calling for the creation of a "joint European army" to bolster security in the EU.  The leaders of the Czech Republic and Hungary are floating this idea in Warsaw, ahead of a meeting of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the "Visegrad Group" - Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, all former Communist countries that now have right-wing governments.  They disapprove of Merkel's welcoming of more than a million Middle Eastern refugees.

The US right-wing is pooping its collective pants, now that its champion fascist ideologue and Republican party presidential candidate Donald Trump appears to be softening his rhetoric on deporting undocumented immigrants.  Earlier in the campaign, Trump delighted racists and bigots with promises of deporting all eleven million people believed to be illegally living in the US (assumed to be Mexicans) - now, he says that will only apply to criminals.  Which the US already does.  And which current US President Barack Obama had already stepped up in his first term.  With pundits and talk radio blobs in a foamy-mouthed panic, former Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin engaged both of her brain cells and told the Wall Street Journal that Trump had better not be "wishy washy" lest he face "massive disappointment".

Dear certain people in Australia:  Blackface" is NEVER, EVER okayFFSAnd you can't claim ignorance because this keeps coming up.

A judge in South Africa rejected South Africa's appeal of the six-year prison term given to former star athlete Oscar Pistorius for the shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.  Prosecutors fought tooth and nail as it was to get the six year term - the former Olympic and Paralympic runner was originally convicted of manslaughter for gunning down Ms. Steenkamp through a bathroom door on Valentine's Day, 2013, and it was upgraded to murder after a lengthy appeal.  Women's groups and civil rights advocates are upset that Pistorius will do less time than the crime deserves, and less time than a non-wealthy, non-famous black offender would have gotten under similar circumstances.

Striking miners in Bolivia are calling off their road-blocking protest after a government minister was beaten to death, with President Evo Morales calling Friday a day of "deep pain" for the country.  56-year old Deputy Interior Minister Rodolfo Illanes died of blows to the head.  The workers were demanding more mining concessions, less stringent environmental rules, and the ability to work for private companies.  President Morales nationalized the mines and put the profits before the people in the form of health, education, and social programs that have vastly improved the quality of life for Bolivians.

Italy later today will hold a state funeral for 40 of the 278 known victims of this week's killer earthquake in the mountainous central part of the country.  Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has declared a state of emergency in the regions worst hit, pledged 50 Million Euros for rebuilding, and will waive taxes for people who lost their homes.  Italy also plans to crack down on shoddy workmanship after reports that many of the buildings that collapsed were poorly renovated.

A vehicle bomb at a police station in predominantly Kurdish southeastern Turkey killed at least eleven people and injured dozens more.  Police in the Somali capital of Mogadishu say Islamist militants set off a car bomb that killed ten people at a restaurant in the Lido beach neighborhood.  Philippine cops and troops killed eleven Islamist rebels in the south, including one who allegedly took part in the kidnapping and beheading of two Canadian tourists.
