Hello Australia!! - Bowe Bergdahl avoids jail time - The UN demands Australia care for the man in the Manus Island detention center - Ivanka flops in Tokyo - Ebola money disappears - And much, much more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights is demanding that Australia restore food, water and health services to 600 men inside the Manus Island immigration processing center and end the "unfolding humanitarian emergency".  UN High Commissioner for Human Rights spokesman Rupert Colville said, "We call on the Australian Government, as the party who interned the men in the first place, to immediately provide protection, food, water and other basic services," adding, "The men have said they fear they will be subjected to violence at the hands of locals if they leave the compound - and, given there have been violent incidents in the past, we believe these fears should be respected and satisfactorily addressed."  Mr. Colville says International Law and the 1951 Refugee Convention compels Australia and Papua New Guinea to protect the men from harm and ensure they had access to shelter, water, food and sanitation.

A US Army court at Fort Bragg, North Carolina ordered Bowe Bergdahl be dishonorably discharged from the military for walking away from his post in Afghanistan in June 2009.  He'll also have to forfeit 10 months in pay and will leave the military reduced in rank back to private.  Prosecutors wanted Bergdahl to serve 14 years in prison, but in this sentence he avoids any more jail time.

When he walked off, Bergdahl was quickly captured by the Taliban, and suffered horrific abuse for five years until then-President Barack Obama swapped five prisoners for him.  That's when the politics came in, and the right-wing quickly lined up against him - mostly because of the skin color of the President who got him out of there.  The orange clown Donald Trump repeatedly called for Bergdahl's execution, and after this sentence was announced, he tweeted: "a complete and total disgrace to our Country and to our Military," oblivious to the fact that it was the Military itself that passed this sentence.  A General will review the sentence and will have the option to reducing the penalties even further.

Donald Trump is off on a twelve-day tour of Asia while the Russian Influence investigation continues at home.  The first stop was Tokyo, where first daughter Ivanka Trump gave a poorly-attended talk on women's empowerment.  Here's the "audience":

And in a moment of blazing, galactic-level cognitive dissonance, Ivanka said that women shouldn't have to accept "harassment, which can never be tolerated".  Aaaaaaaand let's just allow that to sink in:
Alrighty then
CALL A COP
Over the years, Trump has made several inappropriate comments about dating his daughter if only they weren't related.  As for harassment, in a leaked videotape that emerged during last year's presidential campaign, Trump bragged he could get away with sexually assaulting women: "When you're a star, they let you do it," he said.  "Grab them by the pussy.  You can do anything."

Everyone done barfing?  Okay..

The International Red Cross is apologizing and admitting that US$5 Million earmarked to fight the 2014 - 2016 West Africa Ebola Epidemic instead was lost to fraud and corruption.  Auditors discovered price gouging on supplies, salaries paid for non-existent aid workers, and bills for goods and services that never materialized.  The Ebola epidemic killed 11,310 people, and left thousands upon thousands more patients dealing with the long-term damage from the vicious virus.

A Spanish judge issued a European Arrest warrant for former Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont and four of his ministers who fled to Belgium after pretty much setting off the Catalonia Secession Debacle.  The absconders failed to show up for a hearing in Madrid in which they and nine other Catalonian separatists in government were charged with rebellion, sedition, and misuse of public funds for paying for the questionable independence referendum.  Belgian prosecutors now have 24 hours to decide if the Spanish paperwork is correct.  After that, they have 15 days in which to round up Puigdemont and his confederates and ship them back.  That process could take longer if Puigdemont and crew choose to fight extradition, which it sounds like they will.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is calling for an investigation into war crimes committed in Afghanistan, regardless of perpetrator.  Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda said, "There is a reasonable basis to believe that war crimes and crimes against humanity have been committed".  Investigators will be examining the actions of the Taliban, the Afghan government and US troops since the fighting started in May 2003.  In 2016, the ICC released a report stating that there was a reasonable basis to believe the US military had committed torture at secret detention sites in Afghanistan operated by the CIA.  A spokesman for Human Rights Watch said, "Having documented egregious crimes in Afghanistan that have gone unpunished over many years, we hope this step will open a path to justice for countless victims there."

The Country Music Association (CMA) quickly rescinded Draconian "guidelines" in which it threatened to yank the press credentials of any reporter who asked a performer about their views on guns, the Las Vegas massacre, or politics at the upcoming award show next week.  Superstar Brad Praisley expressed his displeasure, tweeting, "I'm sure the CMA will do the right thing and rescind these ridiculous and unfair press guidelines." The best Australian online casino - https://i-casinos.net/casino/fair-go-casino/ The CMA will stage its 51st Music Awards show on 8 November in Nashville, just weeks after an angry white, male gunman poured bullets down on the "Route 91 Harvest Festival" in Las Vegas as singer Jason Aldean performed.  59 people were killed including the gunman, and 546 were wounded.
