Spanish police say the terrorist cell behind the Barcelona attack has been fully dismantled, but they're still looking for the driver of the van that plowed into tourists and locals alike on a popular pedestrian mall.  22-year old Younes Abouyaaquoub is believed to have been the ringleader, although four members of his ring are being detained by the and another five were shot to death in a clash southwest of Barcelona.  Most are from or have ties to Morocco.  Spain is keeping its national security alert at the second highest level, with authorities keeping a close eye on areas where crowds gather.

Andrew Cadman has arrived in Barcelona, where his seven-year old Sydney boy Julian Cadman got separated from his injured mother during the terrorist attack.  Spanish officials confirmed that all those injured or killed in the attack have been located, but there is no official word about Julian.  The boy's mother Jumarie "Jom" Cadman is reportedly improving in hospital.

The so-called Islamic State is claiming responsibility for a knife attack in the central Russian city of Surgut during which seven people were wounded.  Two victims are in a critical condition, and police shot and killed the attacker, a local resident in his mid-20s.  Meanwhile, Finland is now treating the stabbing spree in the south-western city of Turku as a terrorist attack.  Two women were killed, and an 18-year old Moroccan man is in custody.  Police say he targeted women specifically.

About 25 racist Trump-lovers tried to hide behind the concept of Free Speech for a rally in Boston, Massachusetts - unfortunately for them, 25,000 counter-protesters also decided to make their voices heard.  The right-wing nonsense ended early because they were drowned out.  There were some scuffles on the fringes after the rallies broke up.  "Overall everyone did a good job," said Boston Police Commissioner William Evans.  "99.9 percent of people were here for the right reason, and that's to fight bigotry."

Counter-protesters also outnumbered nazi scum in Berlin, where boneheads tried to march to the site of the former Spandau Prison, where nazi war criminal Rudolph Hess committed suicide 30-years ago.  Germany allowed the morons a permit to march, but because of the country's strict anti-nazi laws they were prevented from chanting slogans or flying ugly flags.

Venezuelan former chief prosecutor Luisa Ortega Diaz has defected to Colombia, apparently leaving the country secretly via speedboat.  She claims she feared for her life after being sacked by the newly elected constituent assembly.  Meanwhile, President Nicolas Maduro has stripped parliament of its powers; Parliament is controlled by the conservative opposition, the assembly by government supporters. 

Zimbabwean First Lady Grace Mugabe was a no-show at a summit of regional leaders in South Africa, where she is wanted for questioning in the beating of a model friend of her sons.  Authorities believe the 52-year old Mrs. Mugabe is still laying low in South Africa, and border controls have been tightened to prevent her from leaving. 

Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari has returned home after three months of medical leave in London.  So far this year, he has spent more time getting treatment abroad for an undisclosed ailment than he has in Nigeria.
