Hello Australia!! - North Korea threatens Australia with a nuke - More disturbing video of a passenger abuse on an airliner in the US - The world stands up for science - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

North Korea's foreign ministry is accusing the Australian foreign minister Julie Bishop of "spouting a string of rubbish" in its support of US efforts to contain Pyongyang because of its nuclear program.  "If Australia persists in following the US moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK and remains a shock brigade of the US master, this will be a suicidal act of coming within the range of the nuclear strike of the strategic force of the DPRK," said the North Korean state-run news agency.  Ms. Bishop last week said US-led economic sanctions on Pyongyang would "the clearest possible message to North Korea, that its behavior will not be tolerated, that a nuclear-armed North Korea is not acceptable to our region".

The worldwide March For Science is wrapping up in the Western Hemisphere, after kicking off in Australia on Saturday.  Most are dissatisfied with the fashionable ignorance permeating conservative politics around the world, particularly when it comes to global warming.  "Science is under attack,” said journalist Cara Santa Maria at one of the biggest rallies in Washington, DC.  "The very idea of evidence and logic and reason is being threatened by individuals and interests with the power to do real harm," she added.  Earlier in Sydney, Parissa Zand marched with her microbiologist mum and said to the AFP, "In this day and age, there's so much fake news and alternate facts going around that it's important to remember that science is what has built the society we know today."

Like a bratty pre-teen finally agreeing to make his bed after a morning of nagging, US Vice President Mike Pence says his government will honor the promise made to Australia to resettle up to 1,250 asylum seekers, even though he said the deal was "dumb".  In return, Australia would resettle refugees from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

Pretty colors filled the air (smoke bombs) as protesters sort of clashed with police outside the meeting of the racist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in Cologne.  Thousands of protesters surrounded hundreds of cops protecting a dozen or so racist morons who voted to adopt an even more xenophobic platform and avoid coalitions with anyone else, as if they were ever going to be elected.

Afghanistan is in mourning after a Taliban attack killed more than a hundred soldiers, although some sources suggest the death toll is more than 140.  This happened at the base near the northern city of Mazar-e-Shari;  The terrorists targeted people leaving Friday prayers from the base mosque as well as others in the canteen.  Survivors complain that the attackers seemed in be in place inside as it began, suggesting that the Taliban had inside help getting in.

American Airlines suspended a flight attendant over a clash in which he is accused of hitting the mother of a baby with the pram she brought on board, the disturbing video of the aftermath going viral.  Unlike a similar situation with United Airlines this month, American is quickly getting in front of this and making clear it was "deeply sorry for the pain we have caused" the woman passenger and her family.  Video taken by another passenger doesn't show the hit, but does show the extremely distraught woman crying while the captain tries to calm the situation.  The flight attendant tries to hang tough (hah) as an outraged passenger confronts him, but the flight attendant clearly walks backwards to avoid getting smacked.
