Hello Australia!! - Toxic Trump's ban on Muslim entry to the US causes havoc at America's entries - Condemnation for the ban comes from around the world and within the US - Is Italy giving America a glimpse into the future? - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

Several groups and individuals are suing to stop US fascist demagogue Donald Trump's executive order that bans entry to the US for people from several predominantly Muslim countries:  Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.  The ban was written so broadly that people with valid visas and green cards are being blocked - it is causing chaos, confusion, and protests at airport customs throughout the US, which is usually the goal of an evil-doer.  At least 27 people were detained trying to enter the US, but hundreds more were blocked.  "We've gotten reports of people being detained all over the country," said Becca Heller, the director of the International Refugee Assistance Project.  "They're literally pouring in by the minute."

Two Iraqi men were detained at JFK Airport in New York for several hours until the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sued to get them out.  At Chicago's O'Hare Airport, a Syrian woman was returned to her home in Saudi Arabia instead of being allowed through to visit her mother who is being treated for advanced cancer.  Students who came to the US to study at prestigious universities like Yale, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Stanford were blocked.  None of these people are refugees, and none were deemed terror threats during teh extensive vetting process that allowed them visas in the first place.  This has schools around the country cautioning students not to attempt international travel for the time being.

Two prominent US Republicans are asking Trump to halt the "Muslim Ban" - "I urge the administration to halt enforcement of this order until a more thoughtful and deliberate policy can be instated," said Congressman Charlie Dent, whose district in Pennsylvania has one of the largest Syrian refugee populations in the country.  Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska says the order is "too broad" and risked serving as recruiting fodder for terrorist groups by telling "the Middle East that the US sees all Muslims as jihadis".

World reaction to Trump's "Muslim ban" likewise has been mostly negative.  The United Nations refugee agency and the International Organization for Migration called on the Trump administration to continue offering asylum to people fleeing war and persecution.  Germany, France, and Turkey also condemned it:  "The reception of refugees fleeing the war, fleeing oppression, is part of our duties," said French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault.  Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said in a speech, "Today is not the time to erect walls between nations.  They have forgotten that the Berlin wall fell years ago."

Cheetolini claims the Muslim Ban is to protect the US from terrorism:  The ultra conservative Cato institute of Washington calculated the chance of being murdered in a terrorist attack in the US as 1 in 3.64 Billion.  With a "B".

Hours after the orange clown signed the "Muslim Ban" and showed off his really big signature like a puerile twit, fire consumed a mosque in Texas.  Officials say they are investigating the cause of the blaze at the Islamic Center of Victoria, a town in between San Antonio and Houston - but the mosque has been the target of several hate crimes in the past, including a break in just a week ago.

The Kremlin says Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with Trump by telephone on Saturday, agreeing to establish "real coordination" to "crush ISIS and other terrorist groups in Syria".  This flies against advice given Russia skeptics in the US who've tried to warn Trump that Russia is supporting a dictatorial regime in Damascus.  The Kremlin spoke before the US released a statement, but did not mention anything about the US easing sanctions on Moscow because of its involvement in Ukraine.

What happens to a country in the fallout of electing a fascist blowhard as its leader?  Former Italian Prime Minister Sylvio Berlusconi faces a new trial for attempting to buy off witnesses at his 2013 trial for sex with an underage prostitute - he was convicted anyway but got off on appeal in 2015.  Prosecutors allege Berlusconi spent upwards of Ten Million Euros to get people to testify his way.  Berlusconi was convicted of tax fraud in a separate trial, and ejected from the Italian Senate.

Gambian President Adama Barrow says his country is a republic, and "not an 'Islamic' republic" - and officially removed the religious designation from the name of the country.  Former strongman ruler Yahya Jammeh added the term "Islamic Republic" in 2015.  The population of The Gambia is 90 percent Muslim, with the rest being Christian and animists.  President Barrow says he'll name his cabinet this week and get an update on the country's finances.  Jammeh is suspected of looting the country's treasury before going into exile in Equatorial Guinea.
