The world is signalling its disapproval of Donald Trump's decision to pull the US out of the Paris Climate Deal, although none have done so as succinctly as the German tabloid newspaper Berliner Kurier:

Warning, the image you already looked at might be disturbing to younger or more sensitive readers because of the big giant F-word.  Admittedly, Berliner Kurier isn't exactly the pinnacle of Teutonic journalistic integrity, but it's pretty much the way the world is feeling.  German Chancellor Angela Merkel was much more erudite, but just as opposed to Trump's "America uber alles" nonsense:  "To everyone for whom the future of our planet is important, I say let's continue going down this path so we're successful for our Mother Earth," she said to applause from lawmakers.  French President Emmanuel Macron expressed defiance by trolling Trump's 2016 campaign slogan:

France's Liberation newspaper referred to Donald Trump's actions to diminish America's standing among its allies and the rest of the world:
Goodbye America

Probably no nations on earth will be as impacted by climate change as the low-lying Pacific Islands, but they know that it's only a matter of time until global warming directly imposes its inevitability on Trump:  "On a global issue like climate change, there are no national borders. I think a lot of people are missing the point, including Mr. Trump," said former Kiribati President Anote Tong to the ABC.  Fiji Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama says Trump might have abdicated US leadership, but the rest of the world plans on moving ahead with the Paris Climate Agreement without him:  "The issue is settled, the impacts are obvious and humankind ignores these facts at its peril."

ANYWAY..

Ireland is about to get its first LGBT Taoiseach (Prime Minister) after Leo Varadkar won the leadership battle for the ruling Fine Gael party, succeeding Enda Kenney.  He's the son of an Irish nurse and a doctor from India, and at 38-years-old will become the country's youngest ever leader as well.  "If my election shows anything it's that prejudice has no hold in this Republic," said Mr. Varadkar, "When my father travelled 5,000 miles to build a new home in Ireland, I doubt he ever dreamed his son would grow up to be its leader."

The excruciatingly slow drip, drip, drip in South Africa:  The ruling African National Congress (ANC) party called for an investigation into emails which allegedly show the corrupt influence the wealthy Gupta family has over President Jacob Zuma and his family.  Zuma has already denied one of the revelations from "GuptaLeaks", that Zuma was planning to leave South Africa and take up residence in the United Arab Emirates.  Zuma has already survived several attempts to force him to step down in various corruption scandals.

German police evacuated thousands of fans from the Rock am Ring festival in western Germany because of a "concrete" terrorist threat.  Friday's bands included headliner Rammstein - which didn't have a chance to get onstage - Welshly Arms, In Flames, and 2Cellos.  The festival’s organisers said they hoped to be able to go ahead on Saturday.

Brazilian police seized 60 assault weapons hidden in a shipment of swimming pool supplies sent from Miami.  The haul included at least 45 AK-47s and four people were arrested.  Local media says it was one of the largest seizures of such weapons in Brazilian history.
