Authorities charged a man with attempted murder after he allegedly stole a bulldozer from a mine and ran it over some cars and a home with woman and children inside.  This happened in Teralba, NSW which is 20 Kilometers west of Newcastle.  A neighbor helped the 56-year old woman and her two daughters – aged 15 and 20 – escape the home.  A 28-year old man sleeping in the garage also escaped getting squished.  Cops were able to subdue the 48-year old suspect by breaking the dozer’s window and dousing him with pepper spray.  There was a restraining order barring the man from the home.

Searchers have found the bodies of three fishers in Port Phillip Bay off Altona, VIC.  Another fisher found their small boat about a kilometer from shore on Sunday afternoon, sparking the search that recovered the bodies.  Authorities say their boat wasn’t designed for the bay:  “I would describe it as an aluminum punt, flat bottomed and better suited to inland waterways,” Senior Sergeant O'Rourke said.

A white Texas cop has been suspended after a video showing him abusing a 14-year old African American girl in a swimsuit during a chaotic arrest and pulling his gun went viral.  Apparently, a white homeowner called police because black teens were having a party at the community pool in the town of McKinney, and it’s not clear if the kids had permission to be there.  Corporal Eric Casebolt is seen literally running amok – randomly chasing teens, rolling on the lawn, trying to handcuff kids without determining if any crime was committed.  After knocking the 14-year old girl in a two-piece to the ground and cuffing her, he kneels on the child’s back.

A sixth patient has died of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) in South Korea.  And the total number of infections is up as well, to 87 people with 2,000 isolated at home or at state-run medical centers.  More than 1,800 schools are closed.

It appears that Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are sticking together – and moving off of traditional TV altogether.  Several reports have them close to signing with the US streaming service Netflix to create a new car show.  If true, it means Hammond and May are walking away from a deal with the BBC presumed to be worth more than A$9 Million for each man.
