Aussie golfer Robert Allenby is scheduled to hold a news conference from the next PGA event in Phoenix, Arizona.  He may shed a little light on a report that he had run up a huge tab at a strip club on the night he claimed he was kidnapped, bashed, robbed, and dumped on a dark road in Hawaii.

The Golf Channel says it interviewed witnesses and retraced Allenby’s steps on the night of 16 January, placing him and some friends at an adult entertainment club called Club Femme Nu, where he ran up a A$4,324 tab.  Some homeless men later saw him outside, passing out and striking his face on a rock.  Allenby had claimed he was bashed and robbed.  Whatever happened, he did sustain some nasty cuts and bruises to his face.

Earlier in that evening, he was having dinner at a wine bar with his caddie and another friend.  A few minutes later, Allenby’s credit card purchased two bottles of tequila from a liquor store.  The golfer says since then, someone rang up $20,000 in purchases.
