Investigators are at odds over a horrific family murder in Brazil:  A 13-year old appears to have shot and killed his police officer parents, and two more relatives.  But there’s another theory.

This happened at the family’s compound in Sao Paulo. Investigators said the officers' 13-year-old son, Marcelo Pesseghini, killed his parents Luiz and Andreia in their home, and then turned the gun on his grandmother and a great aunt as they slept at a different house in the compound.

The boy was caught on a video camera casually walking to school, where he spent the day before returning home.  He was found fatally shot with the initial murder weapon in his hand and another gun in his backpack.

Police have claimed he wanted to copy the Amityville Murders in Amityville, New York in 1974, and had a photo of the so-called “Amityville Ghost” on his facebook page.  Cops also say the kid told a friend he wanted to be a hitman, and played the video game “Assassins Creed”.

But the commander of the mother's police unit told reporters that he was “not convinced” the boy was the killer.

Colonel Wagner Dimas said Andreia Pesseghini had recently denounced other Sao Paulo cops for robbing ATM machines and suggested that could have had something to do with the killings.
